** TURN 11 **

Southern Main tunnel:

80 - Eranear - Elf Paladin casts Bless upon himself and casts Protection Against Evil on 43 - Svartalf - Dwarven Battlemage

The Stocky Hag casts a spell *rolls dice*

15 - Says Beldarion - Human Warrior moves to attack the newly revealed stocky Hag (you are in the room while the stocky Hag is further down the tunnel). Six Orcs are between you and the Hag.
You advance on the Orcs as you can't reach the Hag *rolls dice* two fire their crossbows at you *rolls dice* two crossbow bolts thud into your chest *rolls dice* before they can pierce your armour your belt glows a bright yellow and the bolts fall to the ground, leaving you just a bit winded.
You keep advancing and reach the first orc *rolls dice* it drops its crossbow and raises its shield but your strike is too quick, cutting down through the shoulder deep into the creatures chest. The Orc drops dead.

22 - Kip - Halfling Brigand *rolls dice* decides to help his companion Og'rialt and rushes to his side. You pour a healing potion down his throat *rolls dice* the colour returns to Og'rialt's face.

35 - Aslain Melemir - Elven Thief looks around for potential targets *rolls dice* you notice the Stocky Hag grinning at you and fire your bow. Your shot goes straight through the Hag as if she isn't there *rolls dice* carrying on and hitting *rolls dice* Thras in the right shoulder, knocking him off his feet.
The mirror image of the Hag you shot at disappears and you see the real version 3 feet to the right, cackling at you.

*rolls dice* An orc fire his crossbow bolt at Aslain Melemir *rolls dice* the bolt sails past his head to strike the wall behind.
*rolls dice* Two orcs draw their swords and advance on Says Beldarion, he grins in anticipation.
*rolls dice* The remaining orc fires at the Hill Giant *rolls dice* hitting the huge belly of the creature, although it barely notices.

43 - Svartalf - Dwarven Battlemage looks back down the tunnel for the stocky Hag seeing her wink out of existence as an arrow passes through and reappear 3 feet to the right of where she was. *rolls dice* As you look at her and start to cast Dispel Magic, she stops cackling and snaps her gaze upon you, muttering dark words. Your spell dissipates as you say it and you feel an evil force bearing down on you *rolls dice* the air flares around you as the Protection Against Evil wards of the disintegrating mist that would have erased you from the world.

*There is a palpable air of frustration all around the tunnel and room, everyone swears they hear a deep voice 'cursing
those damn dice'.

70 - Thras - Dwarven Mage you scold your second head who looks back at you sheepishly. You cast Charm Person on Taz *rolls dice* but before you can complete the spell an arrow thuds into your right shoulder, knocking you to the ground. Taz shouts "Cool! I guess I'm in charge now!"

5 - Dunward - Human Mage cast Minor Heal on Og'rialt *rolls dice* he feels a little better. You order your Hill Giant to attack the orcs *rolls dice*, the ground shakes as it stomps over, knocking Says Beldarion out of the way.
*rolls dice* The two orcs facing the Giant try to turn and run away but are not quick enough. *rolls dice* The club comes down crushing one orc into a paste, the Giant grabs the second orc and stuffs it into his mouth, crunching loudly.
You cast Magic Shield on Og'rialt.

*rolls dice* The stocky Hag snaps her attention to the Hill Giant and barks a spell. *rolls dice* The Hill Giant opens its mouth in a wordless scream, dropping bits of orc, as its brains ooze out of its ears.

52 - Roark - Elven Druid casts Infestation of Maggots on the Stocky Hag. *rolls dice* The Hag pulls a face, is it agony or ecstasy, as maggots worm their way out of her body whispering a spell at the same time. *rolls dice* The Hag finishes her spell and the maggots all merge into one giant maggot, growing to the size of a pony. The Hag sends it back at Roark.
You run to catch up with those attempting to free Roosevelt, glancing behind for the pursuing maggot.

30 - Kyp - Dwarf Ranger moves to Og'rialt's side and pours a healing potion down his throat. The Dwarf is looking a lot better now.

28 - Triock Ulagolor - Elven Paladin *rolls dice* drops to the ground as the Hag release him. Barely breathing you attempt to cast a healing spell on yourself. *rolls dice* You slur the words as blood clogs your throat and slip into darkness.

28 - Triock Ulagolor - Elven Paladin earns the achievement *Feels Unloved*

2 - SmartyFartBlart - Human Paladin attacks the left scorpion *rolls dice* you bat a pincer away and land a cracking blow on the scorpions carapace. *rolls dice* Its stinger strikes you but is deflected by your protective bubble. *rolls dice* You retaliate, smashing two legs on its left side.

69 - Rudy - Human Ranger *rolls dice* fires two arrows into an orc *rolls dice* killing it. You send your bear to attack the orcs *rolls dice* it instead intercepts a giant maggot that is on its way to attack Roark. *rolls dice* The bear charges into the side of the maggot, raking it with its claws.

59 - Cicatrix - Drow Ranger warily approaches Og'rialt and applies bandages to his wounds. She returns to the shadows, not trusting those around her.

59 - Cicatrix - Drow Ranger earns the achievement *Nimble Fingers*

29 - Og'rialt - Dwarf Brigand clears his head and thanks his companions for their help.

13 - Roosevelt - Human Paladin rattles the door on his cage. You try prying apart the bars *rolls dice* but they are too strong.
You can see the tall Hag rise to her feet and backing further into the room in your direction. Her arm is growing back.

9 - Max, son of Fulvus - Dwarven Thief attempts to sneak around the scorpions to get to the iron cage *rolls dice*. You reach the cage, warily eyeing the now risen Hag nearby, and check for traps.
*rolls dice* You spot a blade trap on the lock and think to yourself that the Paladin was lucky that he never found anything to try pick the lock with. *rolls dice* The trap is disarmed and you find it an easy task to unlock the cage.

48 - Babargh - Dwarven Cleric you move with Max to rescue the Paladin. You see the tall Hag nearby and summon a Holy Guardian. You send it to attack the tall Hag.
*rolls dice* Your Guardian barges into the Hag knocking it back into the wall.

*rolls dice* The tall Hag seeing the rescue attempt casts a spell even as it wrestles with a Holy Guardian *rolls dice* swirling steel blades appear around the iron cage *rolls dice* These scrape and bounce of Babargh's Globe of Protection time and time again.

41 - Zayd Ibn Yassin - Human Ranger aims at the surviving orcs, moving to get a better shot past the Giant.
*rolls dice* two orcs are struck dead, easy targets in their panicked state.

80 - Eranear - Elf Paladin enquires if Og'rialt still has his book and if so, can he use it on the other Hags?
You face up to the right scorpion keeping it from attacking Smarty. *rolls dice* You deflect the stinger away and retaliate. *rolls dice* You strike with such force that you completely crush the beasts head, killing it.

29 - Og'rialt - Dwarf Brigand rises to his feet after receiving multiple healings (poor Triock) *rolls dice* seeing the tall Hag across the room trying to stop the rescue of Roosevelt, you head in that direction. You skirt around spinning blades and aim an axe blow for her arm. *rolls dice* Cackling the tall Hag grabs the Holy Guardian and yanks it into the path of your attack. *rolls dice* As the axe strikes home the Holy Guardian is encased in ice.

*rolls dice* The tall Hag throws the now frozen Holy Guardian to smash against a wall and turns to face Og'rialt.

Nooooo! I thought Triock's spell would work, I cast Heal on Triock if he's still alive! And then I cast Protection from Evil on myself and face the tall Hag and attack her.

I should've added the "I heal Triock if he's still injured." clause to my actions previous turn after all.

Don't worry Triock, if you die, I or Roark will resurrect you if we survive!

Edit: I suggest everyone near the tall hag focuses on her, and everyone in the back on the stocky one, as the tall one is regrowing her arm already! There should only be a (partially?) immobile scorpion fighting Smarty and the big worm faced by a bear.

Hah! Those maggots were infused with my magic, and I think I'm the stronger in this case.
I cast Charm Animals on the Pony-Sized Maggot

Better check with Doc, it's entirely possible he'll say she's so powerful it won't work. :D
Jeeee....

"Sorry, two-headed... ehm, thing!"

Looks at Stocky Hag...

"Clever girl..."

Since she's basically "aiming to stab me with a deadly hug", I switch to my two swords (with fire damage) and attack the Stocky Hag. At least that way she's distracted from the group.

All orcs are dead, and the giant maggot is fighting a bear... so it seems we're back to two scorpions and two hags.

"Anyone cares to help here? Or raise me from the dead afterwards or something I guess..."

Aslain faces the hideous creature with all his might, incredible high dexterity... and not knowing why, also thinking "I hope I roll a 20...".

IF THE STOCKY HAG IS NOT COMING AFTER ME... Then I start shooting arrows to the damn scorpions. But I believe that if she took the time to deceive me, get that close (3 feet) and cackle at me, I think I do have a fan.

Well, at least it seems there's a clear path now to get to that cursed stocky hag...

"Keep to her right flank, Aslain!"
Beldarion moves to protect Aslain and engage the stocky hag, throwing his book to her face, aiming to distract her attention and lower her guard, quickly following with an horizontal slash to her abdomen. Taking advantage of the sword's momentum, he steps to the left, flanking the hag from that side and finishing with a mighty downward strike. (More or less the same thing I tried to do the previous turn...)

One scorpion, I killed one and the other one is either partially or completely immobile by Smarty's attack and engaged with him, so it shouldn't really pose much danger at this point. Then again, Doc didn't say its movement is restricted, like he said last time, so I PMed him asking about it.

One scorpion and two hags. Eranear crushed the right scorpion.

Better make that a 24...

Could someone cast dispel magic on the swirling blades around the cage? (And can that be done without the globe of protection being affected?) With the tall hag focusing on me, she might be rushed from behind by Babargh, Max and Roosevelt (once he's retrieved his equipment).

Doc0075: 29 - Og'rialt - Dwarf Brigand rises to his feet after receiving multiple healings (poor Triock)
Sorry Triock! Entirely unfair, as I didn't even earn a "Feels loved" achievement to balance it out! ;P

(Actual actions and reactions to follow still, as my first idea was ruled out by Doc. My poor dwarven brain is also still busy realigning its worldview quite rigorously after having received aid from a Drow...)

22 - Kip - Halfling Brigand

Kips keeps his distance from the main melee. He waits patiently to attack with his sling if any of the hags are momentarily disengaged from melee (Kip doesn't want to catch anyone else in the mini-fireball). He is hoping that he can ambush a Hag unawares.

It's presumably slowed but still mobile. I'll try and take out the other two legs on the same side and then presumably it can only drag itself in circles ;)

Not looking great for the visiting team, however.

Doc confirmed that "It can barely move but has good range on its stinger", so I think you can even try to move past it with your shield raised if you're not interested in fighting it, however it probably is a good idea to try to defeat it - I think you should be able to take it on your own if your bubble holds!
Seeing all this trouble and having a lot of adventure makes me feel tired and my head clouded.
Maybe a nap will clear things up and make everything well again.
*takes nap for 1 turn and hopes everything is suddenly right with the world*

Also the human ranger has a bear do i have a beast to summon/control?

30: Kyp - dwarf ranger

SIGH...

Be nice to sometimes find myself in a cavern filled with a family of friendly voles, or earth dryads or Dwarven Lords. Why is it always hags and skeletons and zombies. God's work is never done.

Babargh casts silence on the tall hag, then takes the formerly caged human into the protection of his Globe, and backs away from the blades in the safest direction, casting Silence on the other hag as well if there is a clear line of sight, else casting Ball of Holy Light at whichever closest hag is still standing if possible.
*Roosevelt watches as the dwarf unlocks his cage*

"I don't know if you are friends, but at the least, you are not foes. Thank you for unsealing my captivity. Introductions will have to wait."

*He races towards his gear and recovers his shield and Morningstar, then casts protection on himself, Babargh and Max before he approaches the nearest hag, with her stumpy, regrowing arm. He bellows loudly as he strikes a crushing blow at her hand with the regeneration ring*

"WHAT'S UP WITCHEEEEEEEES?!"

++ROOSEVELT, NOW FREE FROM CAPTIVITY WILL CAST PROTECTION ON HIMSELF AND BABARGH AND MAX, AND RETRIEVE HIS WEAPON AND SHIELD (AMOR WILL TAKE TOO LONG TO DON) AND ATTACKS THE REGENERATION RING ON THE HAG AS HE ROARS DEFIANTLY AT THEM.++

===============================
Roosevelt, Human Paladin
Silver infused Morningstar Flail ++ATTACKING HAG++
Full plate armor [Currently lost]
Large One handed Tower shield
2 Healing spells
1 protection from Evil +CASTING+

59 - Cicatrix - Drow Ranger - Turn 11

Good deed done -- and more importantly, possible future ally secured -- Cicatrix surveys the ongoing battle. Although two hags are still engaged, most of the adventures are still upright so she assumes that things will wrap up soon.

Keeping an ear open to any changes in the battle, Cicatrix slowly scouts ahead, paying attention for traps, new enemies, or most importantly some way out of this madness.
