(Northern Main Tunnel)

Listening closely to Vanathradil as he speaks telepathically with the Illithid, I realize that I can only hear the words of the Elf Mage. Still, I attempt to understand the situation as best as possible so as to work toward the best outcome from his encounter and perhaps share in learning of a way out of this confounding dungeon.

Tomato -66 - goblin thief

Tomato aims and shoots at Aleric with his bow from the doorway and then moves back into the tunnel to cover himself from counter-attack.

Three characters (Aleric, Vanathradil, and Damon) run into the room and cannot see Darci but she responds and acts like she can see them. She has the time and room to appear, cast two spells at them, and disappear again all while Tomato appears, fires an arrow, and disappears from the same doorway.

While Darci is casting spells in the doorway, Squee shouts at the Illithid, "Tentacle monster, if you want us no kill you, prove we can trust you. Attack the (Squee looks at fingers)... two in the far passage that have attacked our party. Capture them alive if possible or kill them if you must". Then Squee retreats out of range of Darci's spells but stays in the room if possible.
All right, this is total BS and in my opinion the game is about to get screwed if Doc doesn't respond well. First of all, I find it very unfair that VeTrack and Sir.Tomato waited to see everyone's actions and after seeing that it was safe they decided to attack. Doc was waiting for days for everyone to post their actions so that he could update and you took advantage of the fact by waiting to see others' actions before you posted yours, this isn't acceptable in my books.

Secondly if Vanathradil saw Hummer on turn 13 he should have seen Darci too. I don't know if was invisible but he tied up Hummer and cast spells without mentioning he moved so he should have lost the invisibility and I should have seen him if I could see Hummer. I copy from turn 13

"75 - Darci - Drow Cleric ties up Hummer with a rope that Tomato handed her. You remove his weapons and cast Summon Holy Guardian, Globe of Protection on yourself and Divine Retaliation on yourself and Tomato.


61 - Vanathradil - Elf Mage (your monster spell was interrupted last turn) *rolls dice* you stagger as another Mind Blast rolls over you.
You make your way to the far end of the room where just outside in the tunnel you can see Hummer tied up."

Thirdly, if we were allowed to send actions through chat, we should have been informed. We already considered Darci and Tomato enemies so we wanted to have the chance to send our actions in secret.

Fourthly, how about I go back and edit my post and cast Summon Monster near the doorway? Would that be fair?

Drow are overpowered. There's treachery in this game. Both things we've known right from the start.
See them as the ultimate challenge for your character. How does he respond? You can take multiple actions in a turn. There's some limit, to be sure, but your only action for the upcoming turn so far has been to speak, so you should totally be able to post a second post with a roleplayed response to this vile treachery, with a decent chance that Doc will include that in your actions for the turn.

(Speaking as someone who had an artifact of power stolen from me by a drow, without being able to immediately do anything about it, so I understand the frustration!) :)

Doc has asked (in the western tunnel iirc) not to go and do edit wars, as that gets really hard for him to figure out. But you can do conditionals or actions that directly conflict with what other players are trying to do, and Doc will resolve those by dice roll.

No. Darci has nothing to say to you. If Squee wants to ask Darci something, he can try when the circumstances allow it.

Now, since I'm making an unnecssary post here as VeTrack, might as well throw a simple thought out there. If Darci truly wants any of you dead, why would she even need to wait till so late to do anything? There were so many better opportunities in earlier turns, much better. When she isn't outnumbered, when people already have injuries. Do you honestly think you'll even be able to leave the main tunnel if she really wanted to do something?

I already did? What's up with all these, really? Picking a fight and then whine about it. Don't quote me again in here unless it's a question to Darci. Whether she'll respond will depend on the situation. Don't make everyone go through unnecessary long posts in this thread.
** TURN 14 **

Northern main tunnel:

First, lets clear some things up. I have mentioned this before, if there are conflicting actions then a dice roll will decide what order things happen in, not which action was posted first.

I included good and evil races in the game as I wanted conflict. Don't take things personally if another player betrays you or sneak attacks you. If people are choosing to roleplay their characters, as a lot are, then this will happen especially with Drow (for those who aren't familiar with the Forgotten Realms universe, Drow are about as evil as you can get).

Most of all, just try to remember it is only a game.

16 - Rizzleskiff - Drow Shaman continues moving northwards, leaving the pirate ship behind her.

68 - Peloquin - Dwarven Thief you shout to your mates around you in your best pirate accent, hoping to be heard by all, Penguin included: "Shiver me timbers! Do not attack anyone! But watch yer backs! Thee galleon cap'n, he does not wish to battle with us. He wants to engage in riddles! Perhaps he seeks our help?"

BJ looks down at you "Why that is a mighty fine pirate voice ye be having. Now if we can just do something about ye being alive, ye will make a fine addition to me crew! Just think, Dwarf, all the rum ye could ever want for, what say ye?".

57 - Siegfried - Human Paladin looks up at BJ and asks "Captain, we are strangers to this place and our quest is to find a way home. We wish you no harm if you wish us no harm as well. I believe the quality of a being is measured by their actions and not their birth or race. There must surely be some common ground we can find. Tell me, where do these waters lead to? As a seasoned sailor, you must know the way out of the caverns".

BJ regards the silver sword held at the ready and replies "Aye, I be knowing the way out but there be a problem. To leave this place we first need to best that most feared of all water beasts, the Kraken."
"Tis why me crew were repairing me ship when ye all dropped in. Our last encounter did not go so well and several of me crew joined Davy Jones at the bottom of the ocean. It does not help ye landlubbers destroying three more of me pirates and burning me ship to boot!" With this last comment he looks across at Grom Grombly.

45 - Loradan - Elven Mage looks on, noticing the portal he arrived by wink out of existence.

40 - Gilius - Dwarven Druid flies up to the crows nest to reside by Loradan. You look around, to the north is an expanse of water that stretches beyond your vision. You notice sharks in the water around the ship, some of the fins are showing signs of decay so zombie sharks it is then.

51 - Henz - Elf Thief moves back (into the tunnel?) and hides, weapon at the ready.

67 - Rufus - Human Cleric says to BJ " Then, you are the one that summoned all of us here. I wonder what's your purpose."
You cast Globe of Protection while slowly moving back from BJ as much as the ring of zombies will allow.
You examine BJs parrot *rolls dice* the undead power of the parrot that you sense takes you by surprise.

67 - Rufus - Human Cleric earns the achievement *Polly Want A Cracker?*

63 - Fish - Half Orc Berserker having spat out his answer stands ready to slay some zombies.

65 - Grom Grombly - Half-Orc Shaman keeps the spell Flame Strike on the tip of his tongue just in case.
*rolls dice* Your entangle spell has disappeared but both zombies that were caught in it make no move against you.

37 - OldNick - Drow Thief steals a bottle of rum and drinks it. *rolls dice* BJ looks down at you with a toothy grin "Now that's the spirit, me hearty!". BJ clasps you by the shoulder "A fine pirate ye be making!" *rolls dice* BJ casts a spell under his breath and leeches the life force out of OldNick.
OldNick's black skin turns a palid grey as he passes from the land of the living into a life of undeath.

37 - OldNick - Drow Thief is dead.

57 - Siegfried - Human Paladin *rolls dice* is taken aback by how quickly OldNick is turned into a zombie and fails to react.

65 - Grom Grombly - Half-Orc Shaman *rolls dice* seeing the Drow die casts Flame Strike aiming away from the companions *rolls dice* your spell strikes the outer ring of zombies, incinerating two of them and starting a fire on the ship.

BJ bellows "That be two more pirates ye be owing me you cur!". The two zombies nearby quickly close on Grom, reaching out for him.
Lesson to be learned: never steal a pirate's rum. :)
** TURN 14 **

Northern side tunnel:

Please keep all postings civil.

61 - Vanathradil - Elf Mage you yell at everybody to stop attacking the Illithid. You move away from the exit noticing that Hummer is now awake.
You speak to the Illithid asking for it to show you the way out and where any treasure is.

10 - Squee - Goblin Thief pauses his attack but keeps his crossbow ready.

34 - Stefareth - Human Necromancer creeps forward sticking to the shadows ready to help Danric if needed.

21 - Danric the Exiled - Human Paladin you keep your blade ready. You cast Heal *rolls dice* on Vanathradil.

61 - Vanathradil - Elf Mage Danric has healed you.

56 - Damon - Dwarf Warrior you pick your axe up of the floor. You try to reason with the Illithid as to why it attacked you.

77 - Aurelia - Elf - Cleric moves into the room. You cast Globe of Protection.

The Illithid telepathically speaks to everyone in the room in a raspy voice "Under the table is a secret door, I will open it now" The Illthid mentally commands a trapdoor to open and you all hear the bang of the door swinging open under the table.
"Great treasure room that way, also Duergar village with portals to lands above. Poor eating they make, Quxtotayl is hungry, maybe you have good eatings for him?"

*rolls dice*
1 - Hummer - Elven Ranger while struggling with your bindings you shout out "WARE, DROW!"

66 - Tomato - Goblin Thief moves into the doorway to fire his bow *rolls dice* the companions in the room have been alerted by Hummers warning *rolls dice* you miss Aleric.
*rolls dice* Squee turns and fires his crossbow at Tomato *rolls dice* Tomato ducks back into the tunnel just in time.

75 - Darci - Drow Cleric moves into the room *rolls dice* ducks back out as Tomato jumps out of the way of a crossbow bolt.
*rolls dice* Moves back and casts Acid Rain and Sound Blast into the room *rolls dice* the Illithid lets out a mental scream as the acid burns into it. *rolls dice* Aurelia - Elf - Cleric is protected by her Globe Of Protection, Stefareth and Danric the Exiled are also protected by the Globe.
*rolls dice* Damon - Dwarf Warrior feels the acid rain falling on his skin *rolls dice* your helmet of power glows and the rain runs of your body without causing any harm.
*rolls dice* Squee - Goblin Thief screams as the acid burns into him.
*rolls dice* Vanathradil - Elf Mage you are at the edge of the storm and with acid burning into you, you back up towards the side tunnel where you saw Hummer.
The Sound Blast roars around the table *rolls dice* the Illithid slumps forward in the Holy Guardians grasp.
*rolls dice* Stefareth clasps his hands over his ears and stumbles stunned.
*rolls dice* Squee dives under the table to avoid the acid rain and falls down the trapdoor, landing hard on stone steps below.
*rolls dice* Danric the Exiled collapses unconscious.
So... Now we know there is a way out by ship. But the ship is burning.

And we found a possible common interest in the quest to kill the kraken... only for BJ to kill OldNick.

Diplomacy was given a chance and failed, but at least we gained some information. I'm afraid it's time to strike. We can't let OldNick's death be for nothing.

(Does anyone have a resurrection spell available?)

I cast Turn Undead towards the zombies and especially BJ, and attack the nearest zombies with my silver sword.
