Terrapin2190: I very rarely downvote people on GOG unless I feel they truly deserve it. Either they're being childish or selfishly begging for hand-me-downs. Which, I'll be honest, I'm guilty of that on a few occassions after I first joined and realized 'omg giveaways!!!' lol. It's just like post #2 tho. As with life, you put positive in, you get positive in return :)

Not saying you're going around spreading negativity... I haven't seen any of your recent posts. Just going by the general knowledge you portrayed in this one. People can be pretty harsh in forums. Especially with giveaways and it depends on the age group as well. I've seen a lot of people downvote posts simply because someone is expressing gratitude towards a person that gifted them something. So, this forum, in essence can be harsher than a lot of others as far as reputation is concerned.
Yeah I have decided to just cope with it instead. The rage today was to just let it all out.

tinyE: I lose 12 points a day. How many threads have I started today?
The more pertinent question from your perspective is "How many threads have I derailed today?". ;)
You are not your rep.
Cool. Feel free to leave anytime.

Actually, in Johnathanamz's case, he does. You see, he's infamous for having a rather bizarre, obsessively pro-Microsoft, anti-Linux bent to the point where he seems to be trying to give the impression of being paid by MS to post what he does, among them some rather wild claims about being a Microsoft shareholder.

So, in his case, he really is his rep. Not rep in the sense of that pointless little number next to your user name, but rep in that much more troublesome of senses - the knowledge that when you see a new thread posted by him, it's either going to be some pro-Microsoft, anti-Linux rant, some inane question, or some rambling, unsubstantiated claim.

Johnathanamz: I decided to listen to a fellow gogger that the forums are being attacked by alt, scammer, and troll accounts.
And they're posting through your account...

Pro-microsoft anti-Linux? Is this possible? I mean, Linux has no paid marketing, no controlling corporation and never had 80% marketshare to demand things from hardware and software vendors. Is he fond of fighting against windmills?.. Microsoft shareholder? Does he do this, because he fears to lose his money? LOL. Maybe he is Balmer in disguise. = )

Johnathanamz: I'm truly upset at the gog.com community.

Every topic I make I get down voted.

I said like a week ago I will break the gog.com forums. I will now proceed to do it until the gog.com employees fix it.

I'm officially fed up with this.

I think GOG should add a feature that allows people to auto ignore the vote system as well as block users. Since they moderate the forums which is fine but I think we the users should have a little more control.

Do you know that since some months the forums is ridden with scammers and trolls, right?
It's not "the community": it's just a few bad people.
Please don't join the ranks of the crazies.

It seems your posts are being born with Downreps Syndrome. The only known cure is to stop being such an arsehole.

No, I'm nursing a serious urge to jump off the wagon. Happens this time every year toward the end of the season.
Here's an idea, and I know it's tough because we're human and it's like we're hardwired to go all haywire whenever people don't agree with us or "attack" us or whatever, but...

Maybe try making a thread about whatever it is you dislike, and then when people respond, if you don't like what they're saying - ignore them. Respond only to the posts that sympathize/empathize with you. Why would you even want to waste time on anyone else?

LOL

OTOH, at least these days he isn't just posting pro-MS propaganda. I remember for quite a while the only time I'd ever see him in here is if somebody would say "Windows sucks" three times.
