I wonder if Darwinia deserves another temporary mention.

On Steam, the latest "stable" update is 2.2.0-296 (store.steampowered.com/news/app/1500?updates=true), but on GOG, only 2.2.0-292 offline installer is available at the moment, and if one wants a higher version (I however have no idea if one can download a specific version from a beta channel, or only the latest one), they need to use Galaxy.

Hmm. I think, this is rather a case for the 'second class' thread, because it concerns update parity between steam and GOG. If course, if the trend persists and the Galaxy version gets updated while the offline version does not, this would at some point deserve mention here.

Even though it strictly speaking still world not make the offline version DRMed, just outdated. At least as long as these patches don't add any game content. As soon as the Galaxy version contains game content that the offline version does not, that content is effectively DRM-ed.

Lifthrasil: In that case it's definitely DRM. If a game needs Galaxy to run at all, it's fully DRM-ED.
If this really is the case it deserves much more noise than this litlle thread. We are talking about true DRM by ANY definition - even GOGs own ... we are also talking about actual gameplay and not cosmetics AND we are talking about the fact that GOG KNOWS about it and - as far as I know - nothing has happened until now. I did my part and also added a bad review but imo it is not enough.

I wrote to support about it. But I didn't get a reply. Maybe because I don't own the game. Or maybe because GOG wants to bury it in silence.

A DLC for an extremely niche sim probably has few people caring one way or the other, so attempts to make a bigger fuss will probably result in too little outrage and the image that GOG users don't care anymore... Which makes it a great way for them to test the waters a little more, see what temperature can the water be raised to now...
Nagged support on King of Seas. Replied it's still an open case.
I'm not sure 8-Bit-Armies and Hordes have DRM MP. I played both games find using LAN on two different Computers.

Right, it's probably because no one really cares about the game. People wanted new the hitman game on GOG, so makes sense why everyone got pissed about the bull DRM it had. Still, they should remove the fishing game DLC since it's full DRM.

But they decided not to remove it. Which means they consciously decided to sell a fully DRMed DLC. The next step will be a fully DRMed base game. Starting with a niche game that not many care about. And then increase the number of games that depend on Galaxy bit by bit. The direction that GOG wants to take has been clear for quite some time. Mandatory Galaxy. This DLC is just another logical step in that direction.

Next step may be the adult games. Bigger audience than this, but many maybe part of the new crowd GOG has been catering to for the past several years and not caring about DRM and probably also relying on the fact that plenty of those who do may be wary of complaining too loudly because they don't want to put it out there that they play those games.
Could even start with the "unrated" patches, making people even more wary of complaining openly, and also having the argument that they're not necessary for regular gameplay, as per their currently stated DRM stance, and can also be obtained elsewhere anyway. It'd still be another step of getting people even more used to it.
Blah.
There are no games with drm stop spreading fake news and stop crying. Just leave gog if you hate it so much

You guys are making speculation with out any real proof. 99% of the game's are drm free. Most the drm in gog is just cosmetic or stuff that's been updated already.

GOG is releasing new games ever week that are still drm free. You guys are spreading conspiracy with out real proof. Lol

I was able to get an answer from GOG support because of the issue with "Fishing: North Atlantic - Scallops Expansion" and it might be a good one:

"Thank you for reporting to me the issue about North Atlantic. Strange as this has been fixed with an update. I will investigate - he might perhaps have an outdated version of the game."

"Just to let you know that I was unable to recreate the issue with Fishing: North Atlantic - Scallops Expansion.
Presumably the affected gamer simply had an outdated version of the game."

So with this I am requesting everybody who owns the game (I do not own the game myself unfortunately) to please test if the issue still exists (meaning that the expension still does not start without Galaxy) before we keep simply assuming that this still is the case. IF the issue still exists it would be great if somebody could post a screenshot of the error message and version number ... right now it could well be that the problem has already been solved and that all bad reviews and the entry on this list would simply be outdated but without the game I can only assume here as well.

This is great news indeed! Let's hope it really is fixed!

cypherpunkswrite: Fishing: North Atlantic - Scallops Expansion. Supposedly not working without Galaxy. A crack is provided on a warez website.
Can you check whether it is true that the issue was fixed? Can the expansion be played without Galaxy now?

Edit: Make sure to update the reviews if it's true.

I do not allow you to talk about lack of evidence as far as I am concerned.
The facts that I expose are real.

Regarding the DLC scallops, I was refunded, so to this day I do not know if this is corrected or not.

Another one, Starsand cannot be played on an offline PC.
The new game and load game icons are grayed out and not clickable.

My pc game being offline permanent it's unstoppable.
Yes, GoG is informed and the answer is "be patient".

The developer is paid
GoG is paid
I have to be patient.
And you think my goal is to harm GoG.
