o yes, i tried through the browser now, and IT WON'T FUCKING WORK!!!!! it says something stupid a bout a .BIN file, but i don't know where that is (hell if i know. i haven't even downloaded the game and now it's telling me to open the game.) now, i do have the original bg2 cd (but not throne o' bhaal), so is that it?

bg2 has 3 files to download in order to have an installable game. Sounds like perhaps you didn't dl all 3. If you dl via your browser you need to manually dl each of the 3 individual parts (whereas the GOG Downloader would dl all 3 for you).

part3 setup_baldurs_gate2_2.0.0.12-2.bin

been there, done that, downloaded them all, needed location of part 2 even though i downloaded it.
