We used this year’s spring cleaning to dust off some of the great DOS classics.

Thanks to the partnership and long-time cooperation with the DOSBox Crew, together we’ve managed to enhance with cloud saves feature over 100 classics, with more to come.

Since the introduction of the Universal Cloud Saves to GOG Galaxy, the feature has been added to more and more all-time classics that never offered save syncing and cloud backups. Working closely with DOSBox Crew and adding cloud saves to older games is another step that we take to improve gamers experience with good old games.

Many of these cloud saves enabled DOS classics joined the Spring Sale line up offering savings for such must-haves like Colonization (-75%), Dungeon Keeper Gold (-75%), Heroes of Might and Magic (-75%), Alone in the Dark: The Trilogy 1+2+3 (-75%), Wing Commander III (-75%), classic X-COMs (-75%), and many more.

Ok. If Anybody are suffering the same glitch as me, keep an eye in your antivirus. It can delete the SDL dlls in the installing process.
QUESTION TO GOG.

Since I don't use the client, why do I get an updated offline file offered for so many of my DOSBOX games? Are the files that are OFFLINE also altered ?
Yay, another reminder how much gog loves Linux users on the front page! Along with an annoying update notice for every dosbox game I own to rub it in! How wonderful!

Because the DOSBox version used in those games has likely been updated to the latest one (0.74-2).

Yes. That's not a bug, it's a feature. :-)

The offline installers are supposed to always install exactly the same as Galaxy so you can choose to use (or not use) Galaxy at any time without any change to the games. So when the game changes, even if it only gets new Galaxy only features like cloud saves or achievements, there will be new offline installers.

If you do not care about that feature and you already have the previous installers downloaded and backed up you do not need to download the new installers.
Having features like this is what brought me to GOG in the first place. Keep going in this direction of improving the GOG experience. Please.
It's always great to see GOG adding more cool features and stuff for old games like this. Keep up the great work fellas!
DOS games with "cloud" saves? What's next, dogs and cats sleeping together?!?
This truly makes me happy. It's not a huge thing, but it's the kind of stuff that truly makes using Galaxy a nice option for me.

Ah....you confused me.

I am worried about downloading these new installers (and I hate that I don't have the option to download previous versions but anyway) since I heard people having issues with them. I don't care about the client and only want offline installers. As far as I know the client is no longer attached with the offline installers, so...yeah, no idea.
DOSBox 0.74-2.1 is a new version that i can't find in DOSBox official site...
Thank you guys for your hard work.

All the hype lately is on the epic store and their crappy tactics but you are the true star in game storefronts.

Surely GoG have included the source code (or least the modifications) in the download? Since it's GPL and all...

Usually they do, if you extract the installers contents of any DOSBox Linux game you can find DOSBox source in "data/noarch/docs".
I didn't check Windows installers lately, so I don't know if it can be found in there too.

Yeah, I just checked for myself - source code is there like normal (dosbox-0.74-2.1.tar.gz) and the relevant new stuff is in src/dos/drive_overlay.cpp.
