tinyE: this

I've never even heard of this before and now I'm curious if it's a regular thing.

muntdefems: What is there to understand, or to ask to GOG support?

There's some dude who torrented a GOG game (or many of them, most likely), and is now "selling" it to unwary folks through eBay.
No I'm sorry, that's not what I meant, my bad.

We know a lot of people take bogus codes and give them to G2A all the time because we get the poor saps in here all the time that buy them. What I was curious about is if people are doing the same thing through Ebay all the time. I ask because this is the first time I've heard of it.

I have to give the scammers credit though for using Ebay because Ebay is a legit site that millions of people use every day with great success. I would imagine it's easier to pawn off a bogus code there because people don't automatically think they might me getting screwed when they use Ebay, like they do when they use G2A.

Nothing to be sorry about, as I just skimmed over your post and I was mostly replying to HereForTheBeer's message rather than yours. Basically I assumed both of you had missed the mention to eBay in the title and thought the OP was talking about some random digital videogames shop.

As a matter of fact, I've never heard of anyone selling DRM-free games over eBay and sending zipfiles upon payment. To put it mildly, I think the OP should be more careful when buying things online. Hope that's been a lesson learned, at least. :)
I guess strictly speaking, long as he deletes his copy of the game, this is how many people imagine used digital sales to go in a drm-free world...

Of course, no way that's happening
I did a search for GOG and this is what I got in the video game area. They are not even trying to hid where it comes from

I caught the eBay part. Words failed me: I should have said 'listing'. Was hoping to see where specifically he got it.

Hopefully eBay takes appropriate measures against those dinks.

Wow, this one's a laugh:

- we don't give out a CD key
- give us your Steam account password and username and we'll activate the game on your account.
- or we can create a new Steam account for you, add the game and pass on the details to you

None of this sounds the least bit shady, right?

This exactly! You can't find a better textbook example of a scam.
