For instance i have F Tactics and New Vegas on Steam, but i don't have them here. Do you think it's wise to buy them here or is it pointless?

I know people think i am a spammer (for reasons i don't comprehend) but i am just asking whether you think spending money on rebuying games is smart.

Here are a couple of examples that can possibly help you to comprehend that:

1) You made a thread asserting that keyboard & mouse are inherently superior to controllers for playing video games, after which other posters debunked your OP. Then a few months later, you made another, new, almost-identical thread to the first one.

2) You made a thread saying that video games are evil because they allow you to "murder people" (those are your words) and we must be wary of how harmful such video games are to society in real-life.

Then a few months later, you made a new thread which completely contradicts all that, wherein you asserted that ratings systems for video games don't matter and anyone should be able to play video games even if they are younger than the age ratings say they need to be, because they have no ill effects on the players and/or society.

I don't think it's a good idea because to be honest it's a Brilliant Idea!

You are asking weird (yes, weird) questions constantly like it some kind of bizarre quiz with no benefit or a school research / social project with almost zero input. People *usually* don't like anyone who is asking way too many questions, *usually*.

Lastly your questions might even be interpreted as offensive for someone, for example you're asking if it's a good idea to re-buy games on GOG, it's almost like you're saying it's a bad idea putting a potential respondent automatically in a position to justify oneself. But it's only my opinion and I doubt it's about your comprehension really, some may suspect you for a troll.

Now, you know everything.

I always re-buy DRM-free version as long as the game is not crapware that I got from humblebundle.

If there's fixes in GOG version, new content in GOG version, and/or less DRM - then absolutely.
Especially if it's dirt-cheap, like say Drakensang is.

And especially if it's something you are playing now or soon.

I think not buying games on Steam in the first place is a better idea. The games will come here eventually anyway, and there is a lot to play in the meantime. Quite a few people seem to have egg on their face, because they bought Horizon Zero Dawn on Steam ;-)
Depending on how much money you have, yeah it's a nice thing to do. Personally I'd only do it at a reasonable discount; I think HZD should have gotten at least like a %10-15 discount (assuming Steam and Epic haven't had any discounts yet), and I'm happy to see such a deep/competitive discount for Drakensang.
imo yes, the offline installers are worth it, at least if you think you'll want to keep gaming long-term and return to old titles occasionally (of course you might also decide that gaming is a waste of time and do something more productive).
And giving money to Gog might also be a first step towards atoning for your sinful support of Steam (even more effective however would be donating games to me).
If you really like em, ya.
More money to the devs and you get an actual digital copy, depending on what game.

Having said that, I started on GOG, so i've never bought on Steam first.
As for myself, I'm actually going to do that now with Drakensang, just because it's finally here, and cheap at that. Dunno if it makes any sense, but how else are publishers going to be believe that releasing games on GOG is worth it? I voted for it on the wishlist after all. Heh.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: 2) You made a thread saying that video games are evil because they allow you to "murder people" (those are your words) and we must be wary of how harmful such video games are to society in real-life.
To be fair, I don't remember that the OP said anything about games being evil or harmful to society in real-life, they just raised the question whether getting used to simulated "murder" in games does anything to us or not, whatever it may be. I don't even think it's a dumb question, in fact I find it interesting enough if you approach it without prejudice and it could make for a decent discussion in that case. If we'd still give the OP the benefit of the doubt, with regards to their motivation, one could even think that this was an honest question that the OP later on found an answer to for themselves, which resulted in the other thread.

However, what people like even less than someone asking too many weird questions is when that someone doesn't even acknowledge the answers and immediately moves on the next topic without actually engaging in the discussion threads they create, which makes it seem like they weren't even interested in what other people had to say about it, or in any case appears a bit rude and ingrateful. In RL, when you ask someone a question and they take the time to answer, you don't just walk away without a word. So, OP, if this was an honest question, there you have the answer why people think you're a spammer. But I believe you have been told this before without it having any effect on your behaviour, so I guess it's more likely that you're trollishly grinning right now about having managed to engage us gullible sheep into pointless discussions once again, stealing more of our lifetime. ;P

Have done so with many games that I bought retail but had to be activated on Steam (haven't spent a cent through Steam directly even though I have about a 100 games there). But I only do it if the game is at a deep discount. Can't justify paying the full price again for something I already have.

People will do what suits them. Why wouldn't it be a good idea to rebuy in GOG? It's a strange question to pose without a genuine argument to include along with it.

Hell, some people who love a game obsessively might buy it on every single platform they can.
I do it during really deep sales, like $5 or less. Especially with older stuff, where I'd prefer to avoid using a client at all. Every once in a while I'll spend a little more for various reasons, like when Bethesda finally came back to GOG I got the Dishonored games right away because I love them, want to support the franchise and want to help them see successful GOG numbers.
I used to use Steam for 3 years and only buy games on there but recently I moved over to GOG and I am buying games again on here. If Skyrim or some other game I like comes to GOG I would buy them again and it wouldn't be pointless for me as I enjoy them and want to play them on this platform. Only you can decide if buying a game again is pointless because to someone else it might not be.
