You make backups of saves, but not of game installers and extras.

Yes, I don't backup all my games.
I do all backup all my GOG games, because Go Grepo is super easy and handy.

Oh okay! I never heard about Gamesave Manager, I might give it a try, seems cool! Why do you unzip the files, it's risky keeping them as they are?
How many HDs you have? Just curious.

I back up every game plus its goodies.
I have backups of some savegames (only my 100% saves though).
All the files are on an external HDD.
I keep all the files the way they are.

No particular practical reason. I just don't like keeping the extras in a zip file. About 4, but only one of them is used exclusively for backups.The rest have other uses as well.

I don't back-up any games, because GOG and Steam do that for me.

Exactly as downloaded (rsync ftw; the key to keeping the backup habit alive is extreme convenience, and having as few steps as possible)

Yes. I have a rotating selection of external harddisks, of which at least one always lives offsite

The games themselves yes, primarily games that aren't getting updates & the games i will return to.
I Clone the HDD with games on, to two other HDD.

Extras, again no, most of it i have no use for...i did backup one ost, that's it.
