Seriously. I will not be responsible for spoiling the movie if you continue reading ANY post on THIS THREAD. LAST WARNING: THIS POST/THREAD WILL RUIN THE MOVIE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT. HELL, IT MIGHT RUIN IT EVEN AFTER THAT. JUST SAYIN'.

*** HUGE SPOILER WARNING DO NOT READ ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE BEFORE YOU WATCH STAR WARS THE FORCE AWAKENS ***

Right. So I watched this last night. I found it cute and "okay" with a few major disappointments: Kylo Ren and in fact most of the "First Order" looked exactly like spoiled college boys and inspired no dread whatsoever, not to mention their "Supreme Leader" Snoke who came right out of a Harry Potter movie and should run back into it immediately... I mean seriously... WHO IS AFRAID OF THAT MUPPET AND WHY? The Ridiculous Misadventures of Snoke and Ben.

Anyway, other than that, I was enjoying the movie because of the tributes to the original trilogy, even though that was a bit of a bother as well, since it felt like I was watching episode IV (1977) again. I mean, it was basically the same f***ing story with almost the exact same layout. Right, so moving on, I also very much liked seeing the old characters appearing. Those scenes were legendary. Hair risingly good. And the humor levels were also good.

And then IT happend. They killed Han Solo. Those bastards!

Yeah. So there's that. I sat watching the rest of the movie with an emptiness inside of me, not caring at all for it anymore. The rebels exploderize the death star (again), they celebrate (again), another character reveal, blah de blah. Han Solo is dead. Han Solo. The most loved of all Star Wars characters, my personal favorite, the one that kept it all together. I could see it happen the moment they stepped on a long bridge over a reactor. I mean this is Star Wars, someone HAS to fall down there. But couldn't it have been the brat Kylo? That uninteresting little f***er. The cry baby that wants to be called an apprentice to a wannabe Sith Lord? No, J.J. had to go and kill Solo.

Well, f*** you J.J. F*** you.

This is the only movie I've ever read spoilers to, because I'm never going to see it, because JJ Abrams is "The Ruiner" (I shout it far and wide!!!) it's trash that smells so bad I know I don't need to go anywhere near it much less spend ANY amount of time looking at it.

but there is another spoiler thread you might want to repost your feelings in, please (not because I have issue with you creating another thread, especially considering you are poo-pooing it and I want that PoV to spread!) : here

Yeah I agree, I don't like the guy. Hate his movies, hate his TV series. But still, I thought it couldn't be worse than what Lucas did with eps. I - II - III. And it really wasn't. It was better than THOSE utter disasters, but not nearly good enough to be a good SW film. And that needless death of a hero. Oh boy. That deserves a thread on its own.
Killing off Han Solo was the only way to bring back Harrison Ford - that was never officially announced (obviously) but is widely known. I'm just glad Chewie was allowed to survive!

And on a sidenote: Those Abrams haters all over the internet are really beginning to bore me. And looking at the success of his films and shows I'm pretty sure he doesn't care anyway ... ;-)

Blockbusters are usually crap, but let's not get into that. And yes, I said usually, there are exceptions. JJ's aren't those exceptions. They appeal to the masses that prefer pretty lights and faux-intellectual stories, than real thinkers.

Also, back to our point:

This twitter is hillarious!

Yeah, it's Abrams who ruined Star Wars. The movies were great up to this point :D

Also, please stop talking in threads about a movie you have not seen. It's childish and stupid. I hate Tarantino and refuse to watch any more of his movies, but I don't go looking for threads about them just to say that again and again.

You hate Tarantino? Is that even possible? :)
You lied to me. I haven't seen the film yet; read it anyway, and it didn't ruin anything for me.

If the enjoyment of a movie can be diminished by spoilers because it relies entirely on BIG TWISTS AND SURPRISES™, chances are that the writing was not that good to begin with. It's ultimately just hype-wank to disguise a weak story.

True words, but not everyone would agree with us.

Easily :D More than that, I consider Pulp Fiction to be one of the worst movies I've seen. A painfully boring waste of time. And yes, I know I'm probably the only person in the universe to think that.

Admittance is the first step to recovery.

Unfortunately the rest of the world remains in denial.

But I'll give you one thing- I'd totally watch a show called The Ridiculous Misadventures of Snoke and Ben. I can just imagine Keanu Reeves as Ben/Kylo :D

Yeah. It just kind of baffles me that people who are so adamant about not having a movie spoiled would even read any discussions about or reviews of it.
And then Chewie was all like ‘BISH IMMA’ KILL YOU!’

LAST WARNING: THIS POST/THREAD WILL RUIN THE MOVIE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT.
This doesn't have to do much with the movie, but:
short version: this.

Long version: the spoiler culture is terrible and you should feel bad contributing to it, especially given that you didn't even like the movie. I'll give you the word "spoiler" itself, as in "spoil the surprise". But the idea that plot details about an okayish movie will IRREVOCABLY RUIN, RUIN I TELL YOU, IT FOR EVERYONE needs to be taken out and shot, non-fatally. People can decide for themselves if they want to know plot details beforehand.

That being said, KyloR3n is awesome.

There's a level of ruination where you don't have to see a movie to know how big a pile of shit it laid on the source material, given a reasonably trustworthy synopsis. I don't have an opinion about JJ (from my pov, JJ Star Trek to the original Star Trek is like Nolan Batman to West Batman), but I will hunt down and destroy every post on the interwebs which suggests How the Toys Saved Christmas is even remotely okayish.
