So I got the games. Never knew there was a Jungle Book game.
But anywho. Can you not save your progress? I'm new to this system and to GOG, but each time I play, I have to start all over :(

Regardless of a save option existing for the games (or something like passwords), you can save in DOSBox, if you install a mod.
It's called DOSBox SVN Daum.

yellowblanka: What emulators are you using/machines are you running them on where Megadrive/Genesis emulation is "jerky"?
I had bad experience with the emulator provided by SEGA on steam, though this may be due to running it via WINE. It would have been really disappointing if GOG did the same as SEGA and released ROMs with an emulator that is Windows-only. At least SEGA was kind enough to put the ROMs openly in a separete folder.

yellowblanka: Also, as I said in a previous post, the DOS versions of these games are overall inferior to the Genesis/SNES drives with jerky scrolling etc.
SEGA version is smoother, but the game also seems to be slower. Also SEGA has problems with its limited colors.

GOG does minor tweaking and adjustments to dosbox config files for some games. Your claim is wrong here. I am also very confident they don't just slap dosbox to DOS binaries and let it sell like that.

Back then you couldn't save :) You just got better at the game over time so you'd go further with each attempt until you finished it.

Are we talking about DOS games here?
I don't remember a lot of MS-DOS games without save.
This problem was only predominant in old consoles.
Some had passwords, to reduce difficulty.

Some had passwords, to reduce difficulty.
Having played several games on an Apple IIe, some of which were ported to the PC, there were several early games which did not have the ability to save your progress. Karetka was one of those and I remember relentlessly playing it over and over again to reach the end.

Not to mention some companies (SEGA, for example) sell old consoles, which contain multiple games in memory.
If it's an old japanese game, yes, you may not have choice but to buy an used copy in the internet, but that's not always necessary.

I'm just annoyed when somebody re-releases a classic title and can't be bothered to say, adjust the number of cycles/core type for certain games in DOSBox, let alone include batch files to automatically switch graphics etc filters. It's great that they're re-releasing old games, I just wish they put a little more effort into it, like including the latest compatibility patches for older Windows games/including any workarounds needed vs. claiming something is compatible when in reality it may boot, but exhibits so many issues it's basically unplayable
Ok, so you want GOG to work more and work harder for their releases than they do now.

At the same time, others whine that GOG games (like these three releases) cost too much, e.g. they demand that GOG and the publisher should be getting less money for working harder.

I'll have to remember those two when some people complain about GOG not releasing (enough) classics. Well, maybe they can't be arsed because it is a lot of work, and people expect to get the games practically for free. Same for publishers too, why go through all the trouble of re-releasing old games if people want to pay max $1 for them? Better to make remakes instead and charge $30 (and up) for them.
