Embrace your adventurous inner child with The Lion King, Aladdin, and The Jungle Book!

Good stories never fall out of style. And if someone knows how to tell a proper fairytale, that's got to be Disney. Today, three of their most celebrated, charming platformers of yore based on such tales are coming back, exclusively on GOG.com. Disney Aladdin, Disney The Lion King, and Disney The Jungle Book are all household names that still captivate our imagination, decades after we got introduced to their cinematic and videogame worlds.

That's why GOG.com and Disney heave teamed up to bring these beloved classics of the 16-bit era to a new generation of gamers and Disney fans. All three titles have been meticulously updated to be compatible with modern operating systems while preserving the original graphics, sound, and gameplay.

Developed during the golden age of platformers, Disney Aladdin, Disney The Lion King, and Disney The Jungle Book established themselves as hallmarks of the genre, earning the praise of fans and critics alike for over two decades. That was due in no small part to their groundbreaking visuals. With the advent of Digicel technology, hand-drawn cels from Disney's animation team brought the characters to life with a level of vibrancy that was unparalleled at the time, and remains impressive today. Just look at how adorable little Simba looks when he roars at his enemies!

Return to these beautiful worlds, full of that unmistakable Disney charm and wondrous sense of adventure. Disney Aladdin, Disney The Lion King, and Disney The Jungle Book are available now, DRM-free on GOG.com and you can get them for 10% off individually, or for 33% off as a bundle of heartwarming joy until August 8, 12:59 PM UTC!

PaterAlf: Anyone else remembers "We need regional pricing to bring brand new AAA games here, but we won't do it for our classic catalogue."?
Yep. It seems the definition of "classic catalogue" was meant for stuff that was already here. Everything else is not a classic, it is "new".

Oh well. At least we got more stuff from Disney. Can we now get the remaining LucasArts games? ;-)

This is Disney, would you expect anything less than overinflated regional prices?
Now we need Hercules and Toy Story 2.

NuffCatnip: DIDNEY WORL!!!

But honestly, where's 'Hercules' ?
Next to his brother Cold Shadow ;)
I couldn't get my hands on these three when i was young. I only had Hercules and Timon & Pumbaa's Jungle Games, so I hope I'll see those 2 here.

None of the LucasArts games is regionally priced (except for the usual Russian discount). So I was optimistic that it would stay this way for the Disney games.

Many do remember, but unfortunately the ones that have an actual say in this issue do not (or act as if the didn't). :\

Way too overpriced imho, all three for 9,99 would be ok but that's just too much for me.

PaterAlf: Nice surprise!

Except for the fact that Disney and GOG decided to put regional pricing (with higher price points than the base price) on the games (which are 22 and 23 years old).

But what about classic AAA games? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

But yeah, it sucks.

Great releases, can we get more similar stuff, such as: Disney's Hercules?

almabrds: Nice, I played 2 of them and liked it, long time ago.
Hopefully more Disney classics are on the way!

damien: all good games. I have fond memories especially with the Lion King. As far as I remember, PC versions were inferior (pretty sure about Lion King) though.

almabrds: Performance issues? Elaborate, please.
graphics. here is a comparison between other versions. you can compare this with the gog version

Well, that came completely out of left field. Good going, GOG. That is indeed a very nice addition. So bought! :)

rampancy: Are these the emulated SNES or Genesis versions, or did they actually get released on PC/DOS/Windows?
All three had DOS versions, and judging by the announcement trailer and screenshots that's what they are.

Maxvorstadt: Not my cup of tea, but the kids will definitely love it.
I still hope that there will be some games for grown ups today, too!!
I call bullshit. Most of the "kids" who are going to buy these are 30-somethings who already played these during their own childhood. It's mostly a nostalgia thing, reliving childhood memories and all that. While they are potentially suitable for the children of today, I suspect most of them would rather play modern games with flashy graphics.

And I don't really see the point of a (time-limited) 10% discount. Seems more like a mockery than a motivation to buy. :P
