Embrace your adventurous inner child with The Lion King, Aladdin, and The Jungle Book!

Good stories never fall out of style. And if someone knows how to tell a proper fairytale, that's got to be Disney. Today, three of their most celebrated, charming platformers of yore based on such tales are coming back, exclusively on GOG.com. Disney Aladdin, Disney The Lion King, and Disney The Jungle Book are all household names that still captivate our imagination, decades after we got introduced to their cinematic and videogame worlds.

That's why GOG.com and Disney heave teamed up to bring these beloved classics of the 16-bit era to a new generation of gamers and Disney fans. All three titles have been meticulously updated to be compatible with modern operating systems while preserving the original graphics, sound, and gameplay.

Developed during the golden age of platformers, Disney Aladdin, Disney The Lion King, and Disney The Jungle Book established themselves as hallmarks of the genre, earning the praise of fans and critics alike for over two decades. That was due in no small part to their groundbreaking visuals. With the advent of Digicel technology, hand-drawn cels from Disney's animation team brought the characters to life with a level of vibrancy that was unparalleled at the time, and remains impressive today. Just look at how adorable little Simba looks when he roars at his enemies!

Return to these beautiful worlds, full of that unmistakable Disney charm and wondrous sense of adventure. Disney Aladdin, Disney The Lion King, and Disney The Jungle Book are available now, DRM-free on GOG.com and you can get them for 10% off individually, or for 33% off as a bundle of heartwarming joy until August 8, 12:59 PM UTC!

Antoni_Fox: WAIT....

You want me to pay £14 for three EMULATED Sega Mega Drive games?

Hahahaha, is it April 1st or something?
ms dos versions
not megadrive roms

EndlessKnight: No need to. One can simply wait for a sale or get the games on other platforms.

almabrds: My point is, you may complain to gOg about the price as much as you want, but I doubt Disney is willing to change the base price.
I'm not talking about promos, pretty much every game company lowers (temporarily) their prices, it's a good strategy.

MarkoH01: It seems as if you would need a special DosBox MOD but it is possible:

almabrds: I don't have an account there so I can't read the messages.

I found one which allows you to save/load, it's called DOSBox SVN Daum: https://www.dosbox.com/wiki/SVN_Builds
1) I also don't have an account there - I just googled it and copied the link. Did not know that this won't open without being logged in. Sorry.
2) Yes, that is exactly the mod the linked post was talking about.

snowkatt: that would be snes and megadrive then

the_borderer: I have no hope of Nintendo agreeing to releasing any SNES games on PC, but I remember Sega doing a deal with one of the Megadrive/Genesis emulator developers so they could release one of the Sonic games on Windows. This happened about 15 years ago now.

It would be interesting if GOG were allowed to try this.
the megadrive games were sold drm free on dot emu
and are still available on steam
and currently in a pick and mix sale from bundle stars
high rated

Pardinuz: Although the price is a joke...
Nope, Disney does not joke. They are very serious about their profit-hoarding attitude. It's a business.

You'd be surprised how many people pay hundreds of dollars for super old games.
gOg gives you the option of having the same games (virtual) for much less.
And it's disney, what you expected, 2 dollars each?
There's some expensive indies here (Prison Architect for example), and I don't see that level of complaints about the price. Some people get so offended like if their parents were insulted.
So, old games should always be cheap or something? Tell me about that rule I never heard about.

Edit: maybe my message sounded harsh. If so, sorry.
I think what you and E.K. are doing is ineffective.
If you're not pleased with these prices, you should contact Disney.
Posting here will hardly help, unless someone from gOg staff speak with Disney about your complaints. But you know how busy the staff is.
I don't see this being put at the top of their priority list. Maybe I'm wrong.

What a nice surprise!
But look at the price...
Aladdin and Lion King?

Holy sheet, I'm in. Nice one GoG and Disney partnership.
Absolutely awesome, especially Aladdin! Thanks GOG and Disney!
Dear Disney, dear GOG,

thank you a lot! And now Donald in Maui Mallard, known as Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow in North America!

I think they're just the games that Sega published themselves. There are plenty more good Megadrive games that you can't buy anymore that I would like to see again.

I should go and do some research then put it on the GOG wishlist if it looks possible.

its still around 40 megadrive games though
and yes those are games owned by sega
other developers and publishers are less keen

so far the only place where these older games actually re appeared are on nintendo's virtual console shop
Mmh, meh. Not expensive enough for me...

But they're certainly old.
In a way it's wonderful to see those here, particularly Aladdin - I was never a big fan of The Lion King (a vastly overrated movie) nor the Disney version of the Jungle Book (not a worthy adaptation of the book) so I didn't care all that much for the games either. But Aladdin... I must have spent weeks of accumulated time playing it. I liked the movie a lot, and I loved the game.

However, I well remember how difficult it was, and how much time it took to beat it. And there isn't even a way to save your progress. That was tough then, and it's a deal braker now. No way in hell will I spent this much time on it again. And I don't know if I could make it at all, without the twitch reflexes of seven year old kid. No, I'll pass on these ones, at least for now. Maybe once they are on sale I'll pick them up for a fraction of the price just for nostalgia's sake.

Mostly I'm happy to see more Disney games here. Gives me hope we might actually see stuff like Tron 2.0 or the remastered Duck Tales here. Eventually.

Seriously. Tron 2.0. What's the hold up? It's only the best FPS ever made.
Never played them, so this nostalgia trip is leaving me cold.
Being someone who liked Lion King on the old Sega Genesis, I wanna get the consensus on the GOG release before I commit.

Having Windows, Mac, and Linux versions included is a big plus. As is the modest hardware requirements.

But, what about gamepad support? These are 2D platformers, which is not fun when played with m/k.
