How did you get to this weight.
If you dont mind me askin'.

MaximumBunny: And how are you maintaining it, mike? Curious about the lifestyle required to get there, and then the things you're doing that are preventing you from going down right now.
It's mostly how I eat. I have one large breakfast (One of the dot coms I do work for calls a local restaurant and pays up on my tab.) and then am gone from the house all day long. The library branch I;m at now, we're surrounded by $30 a plate high end restaurants so I eat big early in the morning.

Used to walk about 2 hours a morning to get to either this branch or the other one I go to but it's no longer a safe walk, both from folks along the path as well as the lovely police officers we have here in Charlotte.

Also I've had seven stokes, the meds that work on me cause cancer and are FDA banned, the stress is a bit much.

Wow, grats, I only went from 100 to 90kg and only hit 85kg when got a sunstroke. XD
But anyway, weight isn't all that important, from excersizing you don't really lose weight, only temporary water, but you make fat into muscle so for me it's the shape in the mirror that counts, weight is in the end just a number.

The most important thing is that if you eat food that contains a lot of sugar/fructose and no fibres you will always be hungry and on the lookout for more food. Sugar doesn't inhibits the hormone that says you've had enough but after eating fibres you don't want to eat a good couple of hours anymore or at least less, so starting with a fibrerich breakfast is what I do.

As for fruit, I wouldn't deny them completely as they are a natural source of vitamins, just don't eat excessive amounts.

Yes, and the fat also (slow energy) makes one more "full", lasts longer and are more blodsugar stable.

You too, congrats! I dipped to between 78 and 83 with a low fat % before meeting my gf, but that was a bit too much as I've always been "heavy handed" sorta.

But you're right - I'm not against fruits, it's just that I don't really find it tasty other than banana and strawberry, so I really don't eat much of it. But I take shake in the morning to give me what I need, vital greens and herbalife seems like a good choice as any. Other types have either too much sugar or milk, or tastes like the Scottish meal #haggis#.

It's great that fibres have worked on you. I can't have too much sugar, artificial alcohol based sugars, OR fibres as I have IBS - it only makes me puffed and painly aware of... so yeah, I try to eat food that are as clean and non-processed as possible, but it's not easy :-D

But you don't turn fat into muscles, you technically breath it out as CO2 as part of the energy cycle inside the body (well, about 85% is oxidises with oxygen), that's why it's important for us humans to walk much or breath better to have enough O2 for the cycle, and not sit too long in this lifestyle of ours. As a product out comes water and CO2. Again, not easy xD

Interestingly timed relevant humble book bundle:

Almost considering getting tier 1, despite only knowing stuff like "paleo" and "ketogenic" as meaningless buzzwords.

sanscript:
While I like bananas I can't eat them because of a removed galbladder, I get nausea whenever I eat them, I mostly eat apples and oranges.

You're right about that excersize doesn't turn fat into muscle, at least not directly, but what I meant is you do develop/train muscletissue up to a point the excersize requires or so to speak, that is if you are low on muscletissue to start with, all the while you burn fat.

Wow. Why so many strokes? What's causing them?

Rule number one of a healthy lifestyle is that eating out is always bad. Especially at restaurants. Rule number 2 is that any excuses like "I'm too busy to change my schedule/life" are always wrong. Everyone has the same 24 hours in a day. Some people are rich or healthy, others are poor or unhealthy. It's up to us to make the right choices for the successes we want.

I'll be happy to get you on track if you want. Drop me a DM whenever you want to get started. :)

Fairfox: I shuffle so good but I reshuffle so bad. Does taht make s ense?
I guess so... but then again, you don't necessarily have to reshuffle when sliding on slippery ice.

Fairfox: plus i'd look silly.
Don't we all? :)

Fairfox: mah sister flails liek a fudger when she falls, tho (Imma basin' this on when we were in single digits; you must kno this).
Like a fudger, really? How intriguing!
So you haven't seen her fall since you were kids? Perhaps it's about time you (gently) put her to the test. :P

Fairfox: Went out with a friend earlier for coffee an' i feel liek i aged ten years tryin' to get from point a to point b.
Coffee always makes me feel at least ten years younger – and an additional ten if I’m walking with a cup in my hand, because I always spill some of the divine nectar on my trousers.

MaximumBunny: *snip*
Again, it's a matter of how I eat. My options are very few.

I don't drive any more as I can no longer get driver's insurance and I'm limited by walking and bus when I'm allowed to board one.

If a dot com is going to call a restaurant and pay for me to eat there and it solves a lot of my issues with meals, I'd rather take it than go hungry. It's a straight shot on the bus and it's near one of the library branches I can go to.

Fairfox: I <3 coffee as any tru American does but I hateee what I have named coffee-breath. So you drink coffee, HUZZAH YAY! ten mins later, ewww, mah breath has dusky, husky coffee-breath remnants. Teh key? Eat a sour Jelly Belly some tiem afterwards an' it takes teh anti-shine off :D
I carry a water bottle with me and pretty much alt between the two.

You sound like you live somewhere expensive like new york and work with multiple big name companies, but can barely afford to survive. Your priority should be 100% on your health at this point. There are options for that.

But are you willing to give up your current life and lifestyle to focus on yourself? If you discovered some options that enabled you to do so. :)

Fairfox: I tend not to do rude words. HAVE YOU NOTICED (capscapscaps).
Nope, can't say that I have. :D

Just not when you're falling – tsk tsk.

Sweet, I'll make a note of that! Now, if only I wasn't so damn prone to eating all of them at once... which is why I hardly ever have any sweets lying around: it's much easier to resist temptation that way.

Haha! I am like that too, only ever buy 100g chocolate at once and then try to make it last at least two hours and fail half of the time.

You are right on the "choices" part. But in my opinion, eating out is not necessarily bad. If you know how to do it right and have the discipline, you can take advantage of it and make it a part of your nutrition plan. I actually think paid meals are a great way to get a good amount of nutrients, protein, fats, etc. If drmike
can order things like salads, lean meat, chicken, fish, he can have a good basis to build his daily nutrition plan.

One of the biggest offenders of sugar is fruit juice. People think they're getting something natural and healthy but you're just getting unfiltered sugar without the fiber. A serving of ice cream has less sugar than a cup of apple juice. The only benefit of that cup of juice vs a can of soda is the vitamin c.

That's why anyone who's overweight but says "I eat healthy" is usually wrong about that. They *think* they have a healthy diet but they don't understand anything about food and nutrition. You can fit in pizza, ice cream, chocolates and other stuff while still being on a healthy diet vs someone only eating vegetables because they think "diet" means suffering and abstinence.

You don't understand how many additives are added to restaurant food. One meal at Denny's has 4,000mg* of sodium. Someone eating out daily is getting all of that even though they think they're eating fresh, healthy dishes. Their portions are way too high and they're not as natural and fresh-made as they would have you believe.

Sure you *could* fit it into a healthy diet, but that's for an already healthy person well educated in the ingredients list and their daily nutritional requirements. There is no way in hell that even if he picks caesar salads all of the time that he's going to improve his health in anyway on his own.
