Keep an eye out for these localized game versions that just hit our catalog.

Throughout the years, many of the games that are part of GOG.com have seen localized releases and we ventured to collect many of them with the help of our dedicated community and a thorough search through our master archives. Today, 21 games featuring some of these elusive releases enter our wonderful, digitized catalog.

Learning a foreign language is no easy task, although games have been known to expedite the process. And hunting down localized versions comes with its own challenges but we are not ones to give up easily. Besides, we were not alone in this noble quest. Many of the localized versions on this list come from our personal collections, others we acquired through persistent eBay hunting, but a good number of them were submitted by members of our wonderful multilingual community, that humbled us with their generosity. Let’s take a moment to offer these people a resounding high-five and a warm "thank you" for making this Community Language Pack possible with their contributions.

Without further ado, let's take a look at the extensive list of localized versions, debuting today on GOG.com:

Correction: The French version of Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi was submitted by MaxFulvus. Telika supplied the French manual. We apologize for this error.

A huge thanks to all these people and the team at ScummVM.org for their numerous donations — both physical and digital. Good job, you guys. We may speak different languages, live in different parts of the world, or even enjoy different genres. But we are all gamers, and that's a word that sounds awesome in every language, n'est-ce pas?

Note: These language versions will be getting gradually rolled out today, so don't fret if you don't see your language version right away.

eiii: Very much appreciated, especially as the German language has gotten the most additions. Thanks and +1 to everyone who has helped to find these translations and thanks to GOG for integrating them. Good work!

Please keep up the efforts, there are still a lot of games with missing language packs.
Getting German anything added is easy :)

1. We have a very active German speaking community here on GOG

2. In case no one in the German speaking community has the game or we want to surprise everyone by releasing a German version alongside the English on, German versions grow on trees on ebay.de :P

Now they have released a pack of Revolution 25th Anniversary Collection PC and the voices of Broken Sword 4 are Spanish, a part of the game Lure of the Temptress and Beneath a Steel Sky.

What is not, if this collection is DRM free or not.

According to the entries on ogdb.eu, the German release of the collection is DRM-free. I'm not sure if this information is correct, but the German cover also doesn't allude to any registration/activation requirement on Steam or any other platform, which would indicate that there is, in fact, no DRM.

MarkoH01: Since many people here are throwing localisations at GOG now I want to say a little thing about this. The main reason why GOG is not releasing a special localisation are missing legal rights. I offered GOG about 150 localisations or so (cannot remember exactly) but most of them were declined due to legal rights (yes, The Longest Journey German was part of the declined ones). They also don't want to overuse the community which imo is understandable so I would suggest to write down a list and simply ask them by contacting them directly (mail support or chat) since I don't think they will spread their rights in an open forum like this.
Thanks MarkoH01 and +1 for your good work!
I also would like to support the Support hehe and will do what you wrote: making a list of the games I have to offer and contacting gog.com. We'll see what they can use (and if they're allowed to!). There are not enough localized games here yet..
Finally an eyes to non-english community. One of the reason I usually don't buy a games here is because there is an italian version on a different store. if I do buy here a no-italian version, I always have to find a localized version patch on the internet.
Still there are lots of games that need the italian version, but that is a step in the right direction.
Thank you!

PS. if you need I got the official italian version of The Longest Journey, Deus Ex, Beyond Good & Evil, Hitman 1 and 2, the book of unwritten tales.

I also got a game that is not on GOG or any other store. Asterix&Obelix XXL2

the last time I contact Judas about Hitman there were licensing problems... so it's not just about find them. I think there are also some copyright problem (for same games they have to pay to add translation).

True, it might be worth a try though.

Kilmex: Hm - I have here about 400-600 CDs of original german game CDs/DVDs (yes - bought games. I collected them). Is there some kind of wishlist of games GOG wants to have or something? It would be much easier to check for certain titles than to make a list of possible games I could provide ... or maybe some rules to filter for games that might be interesting for the GOG catalogue?

tfishell: I'd suggest messaging the guy below you, Judas, to see if you can help. :) (Or try messaging another "bluetext")
Easy to say afterwards ;)

I scanned already the short novel from Stonekeep that was included in the german version called "Teras Erwachen" and sent it to them some time ago. Maybe they can add that one to the goodies for the game as there are some fans who wanted that book.

I am sure, there are some nice goodies hidden within the communities. For example the Ultima series got shipped with a ton of useless things (a map on a piece of cloth or a coin and stuff). Things that I being the collector I am/was love.

I own original czech releases of The Longest Journey and Wizardry 8, if there would be interest in it.

I also have a good collection of German games on disk, just in case ... :)
But after reading you already have gotten about 150 localizations from MarkoH01 I assume the problems with other German versions are mostly on the legal side.

Does it help to add votes for games to convince the right people or to set priorities? I would have a few, like the Spellforce games, Memoria or Two Worlds. And I'm quite sure when I think about it more will come to my mind. ;)

If you have a bit of time with all the current game releases may I point you to this question. I like the game, but my system only passes the minimum system requirements listed at the home page of the game, but not those listed on GOGs game card. So I just hope someone has copied the wrong section of system requirements to the game card.

As for the "150 localizations" yes, I confirm MarkoH01 has most definitely offer around that much but he loaned us a small portion of those translated games due to the fact that some of the translations he has graciously offered we cannot simply carry.
