No, releasing it here on GOG would be a crime against humanity.
I really enjoyed Diablo 3. I want to try the original Diablo and Diablo 2. I'd prefer a DRM-free version of it and honestly, I can't justify spending $20 for such an old game like that, especially not if it's not DRM-free.

Blizzard is probably too greedy to let D2 be released here, but who knows? I mean, we did get D1 and Warcraft 1 and 2, so maybe someday?
I guess it all depends on if there is some truth to the remaster talks we have been hearing about for the last 2 years. If yes, it will not be coming to GoG and will instead be online-only and filled with in-game purchases. If no, chances of it coming to GoG are good I suppose and their first GoG-venture certainly sold pretty well.

The biggest argument against a remaster and in favor of GoG is Diablo 4, I do not think it makes sense from a marketing perspective to compete against yourself with two high-profile, nicely looking Diablo titles.

My money is on a release of Diablo 2 on GoG half a year before Diablo 4, sending the hype into the stratosphere.

If Blizzard is so greedy, then he should release the game on GOG. ;) D1 is frequently on the bestseller list here.

Why do think that releasing and old game to a tiny percentage of the market would create massive hype for Diablo 4? Would not a release of the remastered Diablo 2 on steam a month or two before Diablo 4 not be the method of getting the hype, that is where the vast majority of the market is.

Why is that?

it would eat all the queso/cheese sauce and we wouldn't have any left for nachos >:(
Yeah, they are still selling D2 on Battle.net so no, not gonna happen unfortunately.

But there are still discs of it + the expansion around if you look hard enough.
Granted, I have Diablo 2 wand LOD from retail and also on B-Net - yeah, I'd love to see it available to Steam, Epic, and GOG. Easily accessible to today's digital distribution crowd would be great.

I would love for this to be remastered, too - while I'm at it. Especially for higher-res's and any sort of extra sorting & features for the UI/Inventory. Sure, there's mods and all to deal w/ going for higher-res's - but official support for it would be fantastic.

More so than the above, though, since I already have D2 and LOD from a few places - I'd love an offline version of Diablo III & RoS for PC. I'd just love to get that game, especially if online player #'s ever fade for it, for this game to work offline and not need to deal w/ the Internet to play. Especially since it tries to do Lore and NPC's/party members can banter, making it more accesible to SP-based fans and players - this would be great. I'd love to have an offline working version of this one; especially if it hit GOG.

I'm glad Diablo 1 & its expansion is here - but yeah, waiting for that to get cheaper, before I buy that one. I still have my old retail disc of D1 from retail, from way back i nthe day. And use a Port to run it (Belzebub). I'm only missing the expansion, so - yeah, would be worth grabbing GOG's version for the remaster and for the expansion.

It's a good game and it's old. So, by rights it should be here! :)
I find it interesting how some people say it will never happen.

Some other people keep saying that Diablo keeps on sitting on the best selling page.

Activision-Blizzard or Blizzard Entertainment will release DIablo II for sale on gog.com, because Diablo keeps on selling on gog.com.

People said Diablo, Warcraft, and Warcraft II will never be released for sale on gog.com, because Blizzard Entertainment has battle.net and Blizzard Entertainment has never released any of their video games for sale outside of battle.net.

Yet Diablo, Warcraft, and Warcraft II are sold on gog.com now.

GOG does not stand for Good Old Games, hasn’t done for years.
i'd certainly buy it.
I think it should too. But when it comes to listening to fans, Blizz is almost as stubborn as Nintendo.

You say this every so often......and while true it does not mean GOG doesn't add any more old games to appeal to that part of the market anymore.

They do, and do so every year in fact.
