Is this an actual rumor, or is this a "man, how cool would it be if we got Diablo 2 Remastered at BlizzCon" thing? I get it, Diablo 2 Remastered would be a great way for them to smooth over what happened last year, but with the current state of affairs... they're gonna need a LOT more than that to get people to forget about this.

Enebias: If they want to recover from the HUGE PR nightmare thy're in, they should come out with something not shorter than astonishing to make people "forget" their administration board is the dirtiest in the whole industry.
Right now people are in an outrage, and for once I am totally with their cause.
That's why I wish I could go. This is going to be one for the ages. It wouldn't surprise me if they opted to cancel it or not allow questions from the public during any panels they have.

Considering that they pulled out of the Overwatch event that Nintendo was having for the launch on that platform, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't bother to announce this one at this time as I doubt that failing to announce a D2 remaster is going to cost them anywhere near as much.

They got up on stage and announced, proudly, that they were working on a brand new Diablo game... exclusively for phones and free-to-play with TONS of microtransactions.

if its DRM free... or at least can be played offline forever after a stupid online BS check then I'm down.. up to $60 down with it.

If its online only then.... we all know the correct answer here ;)

Every game since WoW has been Multiplayer focused, and mostly online-only. This is a major reason i haven't purchased a Blizzard product in 20 years.

Pretty much. I don't think they could create a good game if their lives depended upon it at this point. Which is probably why they did that reboot on WoW.

But, it was more or less inevitable when they went for such a long period with effectively only one game. Right now, if they wanted to make a good game, they'd be starting from scratch. And as evidenced by D3 and SC2, they don't have any idea what they're doing.
