Hell yes!! I was really sad when the whole controversy happened, and now it seems that they worked things out :)

ps: don't know if someone else talked about this already, so sorry if I'm just repeating "old" news!

What if they suddenly received several messages from gamers asking them to release the game? What would they do?

Probably what Hollywood is doing for fear of losing a big market in China. :(

Blaming non-descript "gamers" for this is truly pathetic. I am hard to disappoint but this really does it.... And I don't even care about the game.

Why does absolutely nobody have a spine when it comes to dealing with China.... Yeah I know the answer is money, but good to see that it takes precedence over integrity too.

Because fucking money, thats why.

Man, those Chinese politicians I mean gamers sure are fragile, aren't they?

Seriously GOG, I would've bought the game too. This is bullshit. You could just block the game from being bought in China.

So what have we learned about GOG:

Incompetent biased curators.
No communication with fans and/or deliberate ignoring of them
Woefully inept forum code.
Arrogant moderators.
Gutless staff.
Fired a staff member due to ResetEra screechers.
Repetitive, mundane sales.
Throws DRM free principles under a bus for Epic.
No attempts made at offline installer parity with Galaxy users.
No parity clause with other platforms.
Complicit in No Man's Sky's DRM'd content.
Locks content in Cyberpunk behind the internet.

And now, bows before China and blames gamers for it.

Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe what GOG has become.

You had better reconsider this move, this is not going to end well for you unless you're actually trying to tank your business.

Honestly the thing that baffle me the most in all this stupid situation is how ???? Gog are very good at shooting themselves in the foot, but here it takes a special kind of talent.

Like I said, if they were afraid to "offend" china they should have simply refused the game and nobody would have ever known anything. But to accept, list the game, and then remove it with a couple of hours with some dumb justification....

Maybe it's some sort of very clever PR strategy to try to take some heat away from the CDPR.

This move is unacceptable, that´s for sure. But I won´t stop to buy from Gog, because I would be the one suffering from it. Instead, I will stop buying anything that is "made in China", and that´s a lot of stuff here in Germany. :)
I would recommend to all to do the same.

Was really excited for this game. Makes me reconsider buying anymore games here, DRM or not. Not that I think any other companies have the spine to put this game out. It's matters like this where leaders of the free world need to speak out, customers are basically between buying games or not buying games anymore when everyone is afraid to piss off China. The world is screwed if we are putting money above freedom of speech and expression through art. This path has no future. Ironic.

Ahahahahahahaha

As a Taiwanese, I can see that this entire world is owned by China, and we are becoming 4th world country

I mean, who thought this was a good idea? Not only should they have known there would be blowback from China, but by not taking responsibility for their own cowardice and blaming "gamers" they have pissed off leftists and people on the right.
What morons are in charge right now?

CDPR cannot be trusted anymore. If they will bow to China to censor one game they will do it again for others. They don't care about us anymore. They are not a pro consumer company anymore.

Anime-BlackWolf: I think GOG wants to make friends with the chinese to MILK the "Cyberpunk" Multiplayer microtransactions to NO END. Quite simple to figure out...

ReynardFox: Oh shit, you're probably right on the money there.
It does seem like some Cyberpunk related Chinese business deal is really to blame for this, and in that case, GOG/CDPR should drop it. I'd say it wasn't worth the loss of goodwill, but I think it's too late for that. It will take months, if not years to restore some trust, and too many people have been burned for good.
Still, for people thinking that flocking to Steam is a good alternative, Valve has some pretty dystopian stuff in the works, here are some features that you can look forward to one day. Good luck walking away from your Steam library when Valve pulls these out.

GOG should run for political office; I heard they need more spineless people. =/

What a pathetic display of kowtowing. For all its worth I also voted for Devotion. Not that GOG seems to give a shit about its actual consumer base.

Fuck China, and, more specifically, fuck their regime.

I hope the coming backlash will blow up massively in your face, GOG.

Cowards. And I used to recommend your platform to others. I'd rather sail high seas than bow down to Xinnie the Pooh and China.

GOG and CDPR are fucking disgraceful, you should be ashamed of yourself. Resign now.
