UPDATE 2:

The Outer Worlds, as well as the Spacer's Choice Edition, will NOT be delisted. While this is great news, I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

It was an unfortunate miscommunication. We're all humans after all

tfishell: Shame. I consider Outer Worlds kind of a "big deal" game.

Noishkel: So I'm guess then it's not looking good for getting Outer Worlds 2 here. :/
Yes, this is distressing on multiple fronts. Would be great to know the why's of it.

Publisher change: Sure - new owners, new licensing required.
Not worth the trouble: ...
I'm not particularly fond of The outer worlds but still, I hope is just a small hiccup due to a change of publisher and that it will eventually come back

The second one has a different publisher anyway. This shouldn't change the chances of getting 2 at all.

king_kunat: Hey folks, I need to bring some unfortunate news:

Both The Outer Worlds (https://www.gog.com/game/the_outer_worlds) and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey (https://www.gog.com/game/ancestors_the_humankind_odyssey) will be removed from the store on December 15th (I don't have an exact hour yet). We've secured a discount for Ancestors, but couldn't do so for The Outer Worlds. This also includes all editions & add-ons for both games.

As always, we'll try to bring them back.
Thanks for the head up. Worth considering if anyone hasn't given either game a try.

However, there is one final game remaining on the store from the publisher: Kerbal Space Program.

Does anyone know if this game is also set to be delisted or if it would otherwise remain on the store?

that these VILE JERKS do not send emails for such important things is a joke and proves they do NOT care. yeah, i have both anyway, okay, point stands. not first time i brought this subject up. no, YOU shut up, keyboard warrior. they have several distinct email "services" they "spam" users with and/or you can sign up to. (i get and want some) why not have one that sends out an email to alert you (if you are subbed to it) anytime a game is known to be getting removed from sale. huh? where is THAT email "service"? dogs!!!

heck, a lulalala way would be to have a single thread with no user postings, except gog staff (ie: yukkers) that would be a kind of "main" alert thread. every time they create a dedicated removal thread (like this one) they "bump" that other one which then sends out an alert that THAT thread has something new, and you would know to check or even without checking that something is getting delisted. ..great idea indeed... oh snap, hang on. these jerkwad abnormal (not vbulletin or xenforo or ipb, etc,) forums do NOT have/allow thread subscription notifications via email alerts. oh well, f you and me and cd project whatever.

Dididavy: Should have purchased it
I don't care about it personally.
Hoping there's still a possibility at a sale. I'd definitely buy the game a third time just so I can keep a DRM-Free version forever.
Too bad that Outer Worlds will be delisted considering that it is on my wishlist but there are more than enough other games to play.

Edit:
Rephrased the ending because there are always people who understand you wrong...

You don't send emails about something negative, that's 101 marketing, yes for some it could be useful and GOG could even squeeze some last minute fomo purchases, but it's not a common practice
I'm still undecided if the Spacer's Choice upgrade is worthwhile, but a last minute discount would've made up my mind. Too bad, I guess.
How lovely. It will be delisted on my birthday. Thanks Microsoft
I had the TOW DLCs to get but if they're not on sale by then, I'll have an incomplete edition in my game library.
They could at least let us buy them with discounts, it's annoying. I hope by the 15th the prices will have changed, and I'll take the chance to grab the Kerbal Space DLCs too, but I don't have high hopes for that.

Any chance news like this can go out in an email news letter in the future? I don't really visit the GOG forums anymore and only stubbled across this news via Reddit. I'm sure there are others that are interested in some of these games being delisted that have it on their wishlist and won't find out before its too late that it's being removed.

Not looking good for getting The Outer Worlds 2 and Avowed. I would actually like to get those games just because they both provide a third person view option.

Still a chance as those two games were published by Microsoft and we still get Bethesda games plus they have been teasing other games.

The original Outer Worlds was published by Private Division which has been taken over by another company.
