Starmaker: Good riddance to Megan Fox, though. This woman-hating handmaiden doesn't deserve a platform.
Any evidence of her being woman-hating?

Pomfinebara: publicity stunt for their new game
Yep 100%. Game's still up on Steam, where pulling the game would actually cost them money. Steam is certainly no better than GOG in terms of caving to China. Of course, they could be in the process of pulling their games from Steam too, but I won't be holding my breath...

So, what they're really doing is using Chinese oppression as a moral sop to generate publicity- which I'd regard as being worse than simply caving to China in the first place. Utter hypocrites, and good riddance.

entroumi: What did she do?
I do not know if she is, but she posted a tweet which makes her look very opportunistic in my eyes.

Twitter

I applaud her stance if she removes all their games from steam as well. I have a hunch that will not happen. So to me it looks like a cheap publicity stunt at the cost of an other company.

But like I stated above, I might be wrong (it happens ;)

It been shown numerous times, on the forum, that steam didn't pull Devotion the devs did it themselves. Unlike here on gog where gog pulled it. See the difference? The devs of Hot Tin Roof: The Cat That Wore a Fedora are pulling their game because of gog's actions involving their fellow devs.

Yes. And no way they want their game to return to steam! That'll teach steam! [/sarcasm]

Actually worse... Steam works with the regime, while GOG "flies under the radar" and can't have any attention from the authorities there, as the Guardian article about this mess pointed out.

Actually, that's all the reason to seriously look into the games she made.

Unfortunately, the games don't look interesting to me, so I'll just stick with Celeste (with a couple mods) and Ikenfell (which is available on GOG.com).

Which is why I didn't mention Devotion. Then again, the Devotion devs seem- more or less- fine with GOG pulling the game, it's the userbase that's upset. They'd probably have pulled the game themselves if GOG asked.

OTOH, it also hasn't popped back up on Steam either, and you'd have to think they'd be keen to sell there. Wonder why it's not there? And Steam has blocked multiple Hong Kong themed games, and has a curated substore specifically designed to cater to the sensibilities and censorship of the CCP.

Now I know the Steam Defence Squad position is that the blocked games were all low quality asset flips- as if that stops steam selling such games which aren't Hong Kong themed- and that Steam has to be run in compliance with local laws, I'll take it as read. You may take it as read that I regard such excuses as a pathetic apologia and just another example of people making any and every excuse for Steam that they wouldn't make for others.

Because it lets everyone know what pronouns to use when referring to them in a sentence.

(Note that the whole notion of pronouns is language-dependent, and non-English communities may (and probably will) have different conventions.)
