NOBODY wants to go on a random ass sketchy site to download an unknown file to then extract it to the game files and pray for it to work
Steam Workshop is a button click. The platform is the most popular game library in the whole green Earth. There is absolutely zero reason for you to be so much against it.
Sorry, but I'm with mqstout here. Steam Workshop is absolutely a vendor lock-in scheme. When modders only bother uploading their mods to Steam (as they frequently do) they effectively make the mods Steam exclusive.

I want offline installers, not Steam's mess.

A pity! I want offline installers too, but I can understand the developer's arguments too.
However, I will probably not play the game then.

Maybe we'll see this game return once it has reached 1.0 so people who bought it here get a content complete game but for the moment I don't have high hope that this will happen. Keeping an incomplete game in my library is not something I want so I'll ask GOG to remove it. If the game ever comes back I'll rebuy it.

Out of nowhere four users are targeting this thread to either defend the dev or Steam. What is going on here? LOL.

Considering the reasons given, it understandably became a discussion about Steam and DRM, no longer about the game itself.

GOG does have some basic developer documentation and if you look under "Developer Portal" or "Pipeline Builder" the download really isn't "like a game" at all. And the pipeline builder is a separate executable to push builds. While I can almost imagine GOG somehow neglecting to send a link to their documentation, considering all of the developer's posts it seems much more likely the developer is generally overwhelmed, got bad reviews and few sales on GOG, decided to remove support for GOG, and instead of taking full responsibility for that decision is trying to incoherently blame GOG. I can at least agree that delisting is much better than keeping the game for sale while never updating it.
Hopefully GOG will do the right thing and refund everyone (and be more selective in the future). If anyone who has had it more than 30 days asks for a refund please let us know how it goes.

Your computer is not going to explode if you install steam, and you can get a key from the dev if you purchased a copy of it on here. Its free access to the most up to date build of the game and the discussion posts on steam and discord help clear the air about the current state of the game!
I just came over from the Discord server to try and help fan the flames a little, point people in the right direction and offer explanations as to why the game was delisted is all!
