Update 03/08/15: Hooray, GOG finally processed my refund. As far as I understand, the Linux version has yet to have the DRM removed.

Update 16/07/15: Still no response to my support ticket after nearly 3 weeks. If any blues are passing, the ticket number is X65ILLXP. I suspect my message was read and ignored.

Update 01/07/15: The key has been un-revoked by the developer, but that doesn't solve the underlying problem that the game has active DRM.
The game has had DRM the entire time it was here, it just didn't become obvious until the developer cancelled the key GOG had used in the installer. The fact that the key has been reactivated has in no way removed the DRM. GOG has apparently asked the developer for a DRM-free version, but continues to sell the version that they know has DRM.

Pretty damn annoyed here. Sent a fairly detailed email to support about DEFCON's DRM issue, explaining the problems and offering a couple of ways they could solve it.

Got a copy paste reply back today

Please go to your account:
https://www.gog.com/account
click on DEFCON, click MORE > SERIAL KEYS
now launch the game, go to Options > Authentication and enter the key from your account.
So, use the key you should only have to use to play multi-player to be able to play single-player. In other words "put up with the DRM".

For people who aren't aware of the error, GOG 'defeated' DEFCON's DRM by making it install pre-activated. The problem is that it still phones home and that the developer has cancelled the key that GOG used to pre-activate it. So you install the game and it immediately tells you that your key has been revoked. Your options from that point are either

1. Play the game in demo mode
2. Activate the game using the multi-player key in your GOG account

Not only is GOG selling a game with completely active DRM, they're apparently not at all bothered about fixing it as their advice is just to put up with online activation.

I've obviously asked for a refund, as the game was sold as DRM-free. I'm sure they'll give me a refund to hopefully shut me up, but really they owe everyone who bought it a refund because it was missold as DRM-free.

Sorry if the post is a little incoherent, I'm feeling angry about this at the moment and I'm also kind of ill.

EDIT: I don't think this is indicative of a policy shift, but possibly support staff who aren't paid enough.

SirPrimalform: I'm also kind of ill.
Because of the DRM or just in general?
This needs to be fixed or otherwise adressed/dealt with ASAP.

In general. Being sold a fake DRM-free game just makes me angry.
let's just say, not cool
I wonder if someone @ GOG knows about this? Maybe you should poke Judas about this.

Well, my fairly detailed email to support was my attempt to let GOG know. I only made this thread since my first attempt was rather futile. Poking a blue is a good idea, is Judas back from holiday?

I saw him posting yesterday, so I think he should be. Support is on weed or something lately, many people complained about huge waiting times. I wonder if it's because the sales + TW3...

Yeah, they probably are overworked at the moment. Still, I'd rather have a slow reply than a completely irrelevant one. This was both unfortunately...

The first answer from support sometimes doesn't help in any shape or form. Poking them a little more yields good results though.
I am watching this thread for a resolution. GOG.com, are you DRM free or not?

Btw the game card states that it needs a key for MP only.. it doesn't says anything about single player...

No, he isn't. His vacation ends on 1st July.

Putting Witcher 3, Galaxy beta, and the big sale so close to one another was an overkill for support, as Firek said.
