JudasIscariot: Have you looked into
Grid Cartographer? :)
Leroux: How is that different from graph paper though? I mean apart from saving paper and having more space and such, but the basic work of counting steps and meticulously recreating the maps by hand remains more or less the same, doesn't it? And the disadvantage over graph paper is that you can't do it at the same time as playing the game in full screen mode, without having to ALT-Tab out of it all the time. If someone doesn't want to spend time on drawing maps by hand, they probably wouldn't want to spend time on doing it digitally with the help of Grid Cartographer either, or do they?
I think in theory one should be able to play Eye of the Beholder without a map, if it weren't for those annoying teleporter puzzles and that thing about plot items hidden behind secret walls ...
Well, if you happen to have an Android tablet, or any tablet that can run Grid cartographer, you won't have to Alt+Tab but the issue is that not everyone has a tablet laying around so we're back to square one :)
