From what i am reading, it will be a combination between the original and the second. IGN says that in the press release are mentioned super-walkers, so it might have some of Epic elements.

Sounds like it's gonna be some sort of mix of the two. Personally I'm fine with that as long as I get to experience the chaotic battles from 1 again. Oh yes, and tons of sync kills ofc!
