AndyBuzz: Thinking back on it probably the main reason I didn't watch the series was that I felt there wasn't much to really fill out 2 seasons worth of episodes.
Oh I'd say there is. There is a bit of filler too (some subplots had bored me a bit, but on my secoond viewing I realised that they didn't take as much room as I remembered), but the investigation is labyrinthic enough to entertain throughout the series. And while, as far as I know, nothing surpasses or matches the quirkiness of Lil, the series provides its steady quota of WTFs (sometimes funny, sometimes creepy, sometimes just a line, even just a glance, sometimes a whole scene or sequence or even running gag). And there is a chemistry between actors that couldn't be developped in the movie. It goes in many directions, introduces many characters (say hello to the Robocop cast), and, well, obviously provides a bigger sum of unforgettable moments than the movie.
The only problem would be you already having solved the main mystery through the movie. But gven that I enjoyed my second viewing as much -if not more- than the first one, you should be kinda safe. If not, watch it with someone who hasn't seen the film, and enjoy it partially through their eyes.
