Stryder2931: Has anyone played this? I saw the sale, and wow! that is a great price. But, I am not familiar with the series. Is it turn based? Single player style or one that allows the character to bring along NPCs? Also, a review said the PC controls were not great. Is that accurate, or not really? I do not have a controller, nor intend to purchase one.

Thanks for any opinions you may have, good or bad!
I used to own it on steam at the time the controls are decent at best for a Logitech controller and the game play is, If you like the puzzle solving of zelda and the hack and slash of god of war and devil may cry and the dark theme of spawn & voice acting of something spawn like than you will like this game. it's worth it just get 1 number 2 sucked and is riddled with a lot of bugs.

That's a very accurate description actually :)

F4LL0UT: But admittedly even the first game sounded "off" to me at first. It tried sounding huge, with many sounds being meant to sound ridiculously powerful while certain frequencies were kinda too weak. I remember it being unpleasant to me at first but I got used to it. I guess it may have been the same in case of the second game for me.
I haven't played the first game at all so I can't tell if it has the same issue. The funny thing is that normally all games I play have fine audio quality. There are only two games I've played whose sound quality is not acceptable in my opinion. Skyrim and Darksiders 2 both probably have so heavily (and lossily) compressed sound files that their high frequencies are ridiculously distorted. (Skyrim's sound quality isn't nearly as poor, though)

It's super unlikely that it's about compression on the audio files themselves, I think it's rather about how the sounds are mixed in whatever audio API they were using on these games.

I think this type of distortion is characteristic to compressed audio files but maybe you're right. :)

I just bought installed them.. and so far its miles above the quality and graphics of the console variant.... I'm extremely happy with my purchase..

controls are numerous on the keyboard so unless i need precision aiming i'll use a controller which makes this game perfect...

If you want a good well made mix of Zelda and God of War this is it!
