So in case you didn't know, Daniel Erickson is the superdupersexy, benevolent exploring relaxing-arm wielding guy that headed up the writing department on The Old Republic. The storyline and campaign missions of TOR were the one high-spot that pretty much everybody could agree on, and the praise for that belongs at least in fair part to that guy.
So I found the news pretty interesting that he is now apparently heading up the development of a Star Wars game set to debut on mobile. I am interested. If you go to the game's website, you can see that the art looks very reminiscent of things that came out of early SWTOR releases. I can't tell what type of game it is, and the platform doesn't inspire confidence, but with Erickson there you know someone must have paid some attention somewhere to the matter of legitimacy. It seems like they're doing another MMO-type thing. Which is an interesting choice, considering. But who is to say how much it will differ from a traditional mmo and lean on its story-elements and campaign, eh? I'm interested. I suppose somebody deciding to drop Erickson's name on the press stuff paid off.
I don't know too much about the developer that's making it but they are the ones who made Realm of the Mad God. So right there, that's a point for them.
And how about that hot sith girl's name? "DeathStick". I'm not really feeling it. I say give her a scar over one of her eyes that she also vainly draws all grungy low-fi on her mask and call her Scarlet. Or Redblade. DoomRazor? BloodKeen? HellHands? Tantourment? (french style) Anything but "DeathStick". Maybe there's some reason behind it seeing as how she apparently uses knives.
Anybody got anything to say on this? Excited? Interested?
