To restore sanity and bring talk about videogames back, let's talk Crypt of the Necrodancer! So, first of all, the game needs to get here now that it's out of Early Access, so Community Wishlist and if you want a bit more exhaustive review, I can't really do much better than to post the excellent one by Super BunnyHop.
So, it's a rogue-like (or lite, whatever), with the only exception of turn time being limited by beats of music - so yes, it's a rhytm-based rogue-lite with extremely clever mechanics of skill-based combat revolving around predicting enemy movement and attack patterns, all of that to the beat. I wholeheartedly recommend playing the game with a dancepad if you have one home for a completely unique videogame experience, but it can be played just fine on a keyboard using arrow keys.
This is the reason why I love indies - two simple ideas which most people could never think of joining together, working beautifully as a single whole.
