DeMignon: Maybe you should have kept it and get rid of your traps instead ;-P
Unfortunately, shrews die in 5 hours without food and they eat 2-3 times their own weight in food every day. My pest problem isn't big enough to keep even one shrew well fed sadly or I would go out and buy one just to feed them what I catch in the live traps. Having said that though, I watched some AWESOME videos on Youtube of pet lizards that eat mice and they're mega awesome and super gory! If I held enough responsibility to take care of a lizard and had enough mice being caught in my live traps to feed them I'd buy a lizard and make a youtube channel "Feeding the lizard" :)

Mind you, there would be a certain charm to watching a shrew paralyze it's prey then eating it alive slowly over hours while it is still alive. Hey, it's just mother nature at work right! In that case, I love nature! I do have to admit though what a cruel joke it was for nature to make shrews have to eat every 4-5 hours or die from starvation. I mean that's just mean! It's like the movie "Crank", but for real and in the animal kingdom.

Too bad, Crank would have been an excellent name for the shrew ;-)

True. :) If I catch one in a steel live trap I'll see how it goes... Hope they can eat table scraps too though. :)
Mutant retard mice killing snakes... What has the world come to...

On another note, normalization of rodent ridden residences in North America never ceases to surprise me. I've spent my youth on the other side of the pond, and I never saw a mouse irl until my late twenties..

Go to any major suburb and go to the back of shops and restaurants at night.

The rubbish bins and docks are crawling with rats and mice.
