We’d like to inform you that Crashlands and its DLC will be delisted from our catalog on Friday, September 18th, 1pm UTC.

For everyone who purchased it prior to delisting, it will remain in their GOG library.

Pity.
Weren't the delisting threads being made sticky lately? That was a nice way to keep users informed.
Any particular reason?
Pity. The game was on my wishlist.
Strange that the game is being pulled out. It seems the devs only have 2 games on steam ("Crashlands" and another one) so I don't think it's a matter of low profit. Could it be financial problems on the publisher part?
Is the game any good?

Not really, but it's decent if you want to just turn your brain off.
My guess would be it didn't well sales-wise, especially with those mediocre reviews. Maybe it's another case of "I only get two sales a month and I don't wanna fill out an invoice for that each month"? shrug Weren't there update issues also at some point?

Maybe you're right but it seems strange, though. For such a small dev/publisher who only carries two titles on steam it'd seem as if every penny would count for them. Besides GOG has many titles from small devs who've been here for years and seem made for a very specific audience.
I don't know if the title was a poor seller, but I intended to buy it sooner or later.

Another strange thing is that the game has extremely positive reviews on steam (unlike the ones on GOG), yet its steam forum is practically dead, which seems to mean that the game doesn't gather much attention even there.
That is interesting because it apparently implies that "rave steam reviews" for a game do not equal many people buying/playing it.

To be fair, this has been apparent ever since the whole rigging of the reviews system there came to light. From dirtbag devs/etc. making fresh accounts to post positive reviews to people "allegedly" paying for good write-ups.

Not to say Crashlands falls into the above, as I'd imagine given how small it is it likely got a few positive reviews from people who enjoyed it via Humble (of which I think it was in a few bundles).

Interesting. Since I don't have a steam account I wasn't aware of those review frauds. But it makes plenty of sense. Specially since, throughout the years, I've seen plenty of very obscure and "niche" games getting rave reviews on that store. And although steam has a colossal customer base, it also has a colossal number of games. Many of which are complete clones of each other,
Hence the reason why I think so many small publishers keep selling on GOG. Despite having fewer customers I think it affords more visibility and less competition for certain games.

And as for the reviews, at least GOG created the distinction for ratings from owners and people who don't own the games. Thus reducing the risk of fake reviews from people who have not even played said games.

It's exactly another one of those cases. It has to be said that developers have never done anything at all to promote the game on GOG: on their official website they report every existing platform on which the game is available except GOG, and in the GOG forum they never showed up at all, while there are various reports of delays with updates.

I may also be a miser old bastard, but despite having the game on my Wishlist ever since it came out I don't remember it ever getting any good discount on a sale. Other games were getting better prices and I kept delaying the purchase.
Of course, publishers shouldn't be forced to to give discounts to their products... But when you have better and more popular games being sold at better prices, one risks selling less.

It was. Back in April, I think.
