LootHunter: Yes, what I meant is that the Eurythmics clip was the original. And Manson just made his own cover.
avatar
Cadaver747: Eurythmics song was the original song, not the clip.
The clip was made in 1983, the same time the song was. For some reason, I couldn't find the exact year of Manson's video, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't in the 80-s.

Maybe because covers are usually done some time after. I don't know what you are trying to say. OP posted the link with Manson's song I replied to him about movie and the clip, what's the problem?
avatar
Cadaver747: Which one?
avatar
GamezRanker: I mean the memes/parodies about some eastern europeans and others getting things much later than some....like shows/music/etc.
Yes, that was totally true. During the USSR era, Iron Curtain was a reality. In the 90-s things from abroad became more accessible but they were quite expensive. And licensed media, like movies and software, were hard to come by even then.

Nothing. Maybe I just take the term "original" too seriously.

Yes, the iron curtain was fierce, I heard only the elites and their relatives got access to foreign media plus there was a dark market for such illegal stuff and the prices were high so were the possible consequences with the law. Some movies, many of which came from ex USSR-friendly countries (not anymore that friendly), Italy, France and India were allowed for local cinema and TV however with heavy cut from soviet censorship (naked women were forbidden). I heard stories and watched a TV program about how our militia forces (now called the police) fight the illegal watching of porn. Good times.
After the fall in 1991 we got everything, I remember watching the amazing sci-fi TV series called Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future and Ninja Turtles animation along with Duck Tales, those were the best. Sigh...

I posted: "I watched the original video clip of Marilyn Manson", how exactly I should have say it properly?

I loved the old TMNT show, Duck Tales(also like the new one as well), etc.....such fun shows and a special part of my childhood(old cartoon shows and the like).

As I said above: I think you both just misread a bit what the other one said, and this is all just a case of miscommunication. All seems to still be good in the hood :)

*GR hands them both some fruit flavored punch*
"Enjoy, relax, have a good time.......wheeeeeeee!"

My favorite episode of Star Trek? Far too many to count. There's TNG The Emisaary. A old bird of prey crew wakes and thinks they're still at war with the federation. Their solution? Have worf take command of the enterprise and convince them to stand down. One of the first episodes I liked. As weird as it sounds I also like neelix.. voyager encounters neelix in a debris field.. they trade him water to help them find their missing crew.. where two holodoctors take command of a ship that can split into 3.. DS9 where nog says he wants to join the federation because he wants his life to mean more then profit...
I also like the orville.. star trek feels like a idealized version of mankind's future.. whereas orville feels like a more realistic version of mankind's future. If that makes any sense.

Happy birthday. I haven't really cared about my birthday since I turned 21.. after that it's just like.. eh...

NickZah: Happy Birthday! And thanks for generosity.

GamezRanker: And thanks to you for being generous enough to come to my party :)

avatar
NickZah: My favorite was Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, it seems this TV series I watched when I was a child. I remember that I started watching it from the moment when I saw Jeffrey Combs with big ears, And thought something like "wow cool, this guy from the Reanimator movie".
avatar
GamezRanker: Yeah, reanimator is a good film....speaking of: I should really watch it again some day.

avatar
NickZah: I'm in for Star Trek Credit (I heard Mr Combs was voice actor for some ST video games, thats cool) and in for Party Favors.
avatar
GamezRanker: Sounds like some excellent choices......yer name is now on the lists you've chosen. Good luck. :)
Nope :D I'm not see self on the lists.

GamezRanker: As such you may feel free to pick a party favor from the list in the OP post, and it shall be brought to your table toot sweet.
bluethief is enjoying the party very much when he hears GamezRanker calling: "Hey bluethief come here and pick up a goodie for you".

bluethief goes to the table of goodies and picks Amnesia: The Dark Descent: "Can I have this one, please?"

GamezRanker looks at him and says....

"No, you lose! Good day, sir!"

GR then notices bluethief, turns around and says "Oh, my apologies, I was honing my Willly Wonka impression.....did you like it? And yes, of course you may have it....a fine choice that one is. I shall have my minio...err staff bring it to your table shortly" :)
Well, last time I watched Trek was 10+ years ago, but I still remember my favorites from TNG. Personal favorite is "All Good Things..." series finale, because it ends on bittersweet note for Picard and the viewers, while also reminding that the universe will always hold wondrous and dangerous mysteries to explore, so keeping an open mind is a must.

"The Inner Light", Patrick Stewart's favorite episode was also one which I always fondly remember. Unfortunately, every time I watch the ending, somebody is chopping up the onions near me.

Cadaver747: Don't get me wrong, the movie was nice. Many other horror-like movies are much worse. I watched so many different movies about haunted house in hopes to find the my personal gem, it's hard to appease me if it's about that type of movies, that's all.
I think my personal favorite is the Haunting from 1963.

That's such a good lesson/point to end a series on.
