Mr.Mumbles: I guess it's somewhat tied to the re-re-re-remake of Myst that's releasing next week.
I heard this like the announcer from Killer Instinct saying Co-Co-Co-Combo Breaker.
There was a Clint Eastwood film many years ago that foretold the story of a man who wanted to experience this video game, but didn't want to play it himself, so he went out and tried to find someone to play it for him while he watched.

It was called "Play Myst For Me".

[Silence]

...Ahem...
I'll see myself out.

Dogmaus: and they still haven't figured out how to subtitle the videos I bet
Maybe it's some peculiar hatred for the hearing impared or something like that.
I don't think you're supposed to be able to hear what they're saying, besides "x pages" and "don't help the other guy"
Myst devs really toot their own horn a lot don't they?

I quit the game because I couldn't hear and there were no subtitles. To each their own.
If I'm not supposed to hear they should put some dots in the subtitles to indicate the missing words.

Themken: I have them on discs and guess I am too dumb as I never got anywhere to speak of. Riding that cart in Riven was nice back in the day. A good portion of patience and lots of note taking needed I suspect.

If you pay a bit more you support the developers and GOG more.
The minecart was fun, the maglev trams were fun sequences to watch too. If your game was the 5 CD version, then each time you took a ride, arriving on a different Island, the system would make you swap a disc. Respect to the classics.

I'll likely pick up Myst VR at some point to add to the Cyan Collection, but once discounted. RealMyst in 2000 brought 3D real-time exploring as well as the new age RIME as justification for its release. A few re-releases later, is now what amounts to graphical improvements and other bullet list items such as note-taking and accessibility options. Myst is Cyan's bread and butter and when the price is right I'll support this edition. For the next re-release Myst, Cyan should change up. Mix up the puzzles and solutions, add another new age. Or maybe do a spin on the story and content we already know, Ala Marvel's What If....?

I mean, you do know it's a game from like 1993 that was essentially flashcards right? I'm not sure subtitles were possible originally...
Damn, I just finished the remaster one and wanted to continue the series but I missed the sale. Feels bad
