GOG made me see twitch in a completely different way. The streams rock! And they're completely effective, too: you guys showcase excellent games and people are becoming more and more interested.

I'm no expert here, but I'd love to record something like this, someday. Some odd games, some not-so-known games...
Any tips for starters?
(I'm not a showy guy nor shy, and my english skills are, well, passable :P)

Cheers!
I would like to see more unknown/far down in the catalog GOG games streaming.

Also, you might consider letting some Twitchers stream before or on release day, to give a good idea of the gameplay to customers.

there is some beginner's how-to directly on twitch: http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/topics/301257-getting-started/articles
I like it. I don't really care to watch other people play because either barely have time to do it myself, but I really like the community involvement concept.

Cool to see another Jrpg, and super excited for Freedom Planet.

you don't need to be a pro on twitch, that's why it is so popular :)
As long as audio is OK, I don't care if streamers are pros or amateurs.

G-Doc:
please underline Straw Poll link in the article ( http://www.gog.com/news/today_on_twitchtvgogcom )..
all links are underlined, but not the most important one :P

edit: sry, false alarm - it is bug somewhere in formatting - it is underlined, but when link is divided by end of line, then underline disappears... (depends on the width of browser window)

G-Doc: the awesome sonic-speed retro-platformer Freedom Planet, or the beautiful tactical jRPG Agarest: Generations of War,
Damn, that will hurt my wallet more than the two-weeks sales :)
Is there any chance you guys could also get game developers/programmers/artists/musicians/directors/producers/etc. to play and talk about their old games? Developer commentaries are fun.
First time viewer here. Surprisingly interesting to watch. Gives a nice feel for the game.

There was a stream of Rebellion devs playing Alien vs. predator which was really cool! But I cannot find a video of it:

catpower1980: I don't have the proper equipment to stream so I'll only keep watching the channel. Would someone else dare to do a Capitalism 2 stream? :)

Piranjade: In the end you only need a headphone and a microphone everything else can be done with freeware. (Well, and you need the game you want to present.)
Since this got bumped: the main obstacle to streaming is a computer powerful enough to encode live video on the fly (and a wide enough tube). If it can barely run the game, streaming gameplay is out of the question.

The requirements aren't as high as I would have thought though. True, if you can barely run the game streaming it is out of the question but IF the game runs well chances are good that you can also stream it, even with a sub-par connection.
Streaming a video in extremely high quality can even be a disadvantage as it might lag/reload/drop very often for the viewers.
E_A and I encode with a max. bitrate of 700 (Kbit/s) for video and another 80 for audio. That works really well, even on our outdated computers and results in a good video quality.
If your connection is really shitty though, you're out of luck.

What I wanted to say with the post you quoted is that you don't need to invest a lot of money to try out if streaming is for you. The things you need to buy are headphones, microphone (often comes with the headphones) and the game.
