A shattered mind cuts deeper.

Sundered, a terrifying dash into the heart of darkness and insanity, is coming soon DRM-free on GOG.com!

Horrible things skitter and slither in the cavernous depths, waiting to swallow you whole or just suck out any remnants of your soul. The parts you haven't yet surrendered, anyway. Because when things get scary, you will be tempted to channel corrupted powers against the massive monstrosities standing in your way, at the cost of your humanity. Can you resist their dark embrace?

Watch the trailer.

This is AMAZING! I almost think this game trailer was Ori with different characters. It's the same team or part of them behind this game or it's just a nice coincidence?

Coincidence! We love Ori, but that was from the lovely people at Moon Studios. We're Thunder Lotus, and this is our second game after Jotun! https://www.gog.com/game/jotun

Welcome again. It's always nice to see a developer/publisher gracing a release thread with their words. I have to inform however that the link you wrote is pointing at the wrong URL.

Regarding the game I'm not sure if it's my cup of tea but I will wait to see some gameplay and reviews once it is released and maybe it will pull me then.

I feel like this will live or die depending on how good the controls are and I'm hoping it'll be the former. It definitely looks great, so whether it plays great as well will be the clincher.

If you liked Ori, then I'd recommend giving Hollow Knight a try. It was also made by a small team and could be a good inspiration for this sort of game, especially in terms of how to get the gameplay right.

anothername: As said above; I have to assume it since its listed as roguelike. Its not knowing it has not but rather being 99% sure it has not.

willdube: Hey guys,

Just wanted to clarify and let you know that Sundered does indeed have save files.

In terms of gameplay, Sundered is best described as a mix between Rogue Legacy and Super Metroid. Your upgrades and player progression are saved, while the map and monsters regenerate every time you die.

Hope that clears things up,

Will
Nice!

Will have an eye on it then :)

You should consider offering Jotun as a preorder bonus for Sundered.

See Inside/Little Nightmares and Teslagrad/World to the West.
Haha not a bad idea, the news of Inside offered with little Nightmare on gog has been linked on many video games websites.

Appart from that, Sundered is a game i follow since i heard about it, several months ago. The artstyle is just beautifull and the gameplay seems nice, but a lot of competitors at the moment :)

Looks interesting. Will keep an eye on this.

Non-roguelike players will surely rejoice. But can it still be called a roguelike? The constant high risk of losing your progress is what makes roguelikes exciting. Also, I kind of enjoy losing my progress, since it makes me constantly trying out new builds. With normal RPG's I get tired of being tied to one single build.

(Besides that, the game looks super cool)

Looks nice. I would enjoy seeing more than a second or two of game play before cutting to a new point in the game though. Will definitely keep watch for this one.

Jotun was awesome... Knowing you guys were behind that and made this leave no room for doubt. Can't wait to play this!
I'm really looking foward for Sundered, it's series will be a worthy follower to the hollow knight series... ^^
Man, art looks great but those soundtrack beats at the end sold me.
Jotun was fantastic when it came to atmosphere and I have no doubts this will deliver just the same.
