Noice, looking forward to it.
If the soundtrack to the first one could finally be made available on GoG too, that'd be great as well.
Take away the party? Might as well take away the best thing about the original.
So is this only for Windows 10?
Because the page has contradictory information; at the bottom in min requirements it says you need windows 10, but at the side it says 7, 8, or 10.

Me watching the trailer: "It's like StarCrawlers". Then I read the title better. I need to go to bed.
Hoping for the best. I really liked the first.

The original was a free giveaway at one point so i guess there is no reason to buy this game because they will clearly do it once again when the sales eventually plummet.
This is partially distressing, on the one hand, I'm ecstatic about this game, but on the other, dismayed at the fact that it's InDev, so who knows how long until it's actually released?
Procedurally-generated floors provide new challenges and rewards.
Choose your own difficulty mode - with optional permadeath.
This had me a bit worried, but then I read that permadeath is optional, so I'm relieved, so wishlisted!

It was given as bonus after spending some amount on one of the sales. Not exactly free giveaway.

Did you play first Starcrawlers? It was exactly like this, grindy dungeon crawler with random missions, levels and loot. There was story campaign but rather short and farming random missions was mandatory to level up and get better gear. Much closer design philosophy to roguelite games than say Vaporum or Legend of Grimrock.

Hmm, let's just say the same will happen with this game. I blame my poor memory.

If you want a game to be free you need to wait between 2 to 4 years (or more) after release. This is still capitalism where the labor of developers need to be rewarded with money compensation. Do you want to do your job without getting paid?

Me ? i merely made an observaton nothing more. I have paid for all my games and isn't good at waiting for discounts at all unfortunately but chances are however small that the dev will do a similar promotion again in the future but i don't care for waiting myself for the price to sink or even be free and usually wait to see if a game will be good before i even consider buying a game because quality comes before a price tag, there is little point in collecting shit even if it's completely free for you.

I really liked the original, but I never finished it. Maybe I just suck, but the difficulty spike near the end felt ridiculous. It became such a slow, grindy slog all of a sudden I just gave up. And this looks actually worse than the original. No party? All set in one building? And they didn't even design the levels for that one building? Sorry, but I don't think I'll be looking forward to the release.
Is it all Vaporum/Grimrock combat?
I honestly didn't really enjoy the first one. I think the scenery was too similar every dungeon. It's a bit hypocritical since I enjoy Etrian Odyssey lol.

I found the difficulty problem in the first game wasn't so much the difficulty itself as the lack of balance between the classes and skill trees. I remember playing through that game like a breeze, handling above level missions like a cake walk. Then I decided to switch up my skill trees to see how the others worked and was suddenly getting my butt handed to me on even level missions or lower. So if you ever decide to go back and try to finish the game, try different classes and skills. You might find it alot easier.

Anyway, I enjoyed the first game so I will definitely be keeping an eye on this one to see how it turns out.
