The right song can make you strong.

Songbringer is coming soon to GOG.com.
A sci-fi action RPG with procedurally-generated worlds and a focus on powerful, long-lost technological devices, secrets, dungeons, bosses, and looking particularly amazing. A recipe for perfection? We think so.

"“Millions of unique worlds? Zelda-style exploration, combat, and puzzling? Be still, my beating heart.”Kotaku

Watch the trailer.

Forum popping. Also, do want.
game looks like it could be real fun, but I have a hard time with the graphics in just making out detail of the landscape and enemies
I like sci-fi and I like RPGs.
The horrible graphics and procedurally generated worlds though...

Agreed. The concept sounds amazing but, honestly, who can make out what exactly is happening in this screencap: https://images-1.gog.com/3bd5acdd7d5deae2fe6dbe081a44b89603b734c63fd7b0adb877e466bdf376d8_product_card_screenshot_600_2x.jpg ?

To be fair, I imagine it's easier when things are moving. I'l have this on my wishlist until I can see a couple of gameplay videos, though. It really does sound amazing, and I'll take procedurally-generated levels over random (read: "rogue-light") any day. Cheers to the devs for that!

Eh, procedurally generated is random... as in when they say random that's what they mean...
I like the fact you can use seeds to generate the worlds though so you can replay or share your favourites.

I really like the look of this, sounds like just my thing.
high rated
Hmmmm, let me go through the checklist:

Shitty, low-effort pixel "retro" graphics. Check.
Procedurally generated levels. Check.
"Roguelike" permadeath. Check.

Congratulations, you've just become a GOG game!

That's what I'm saying. They may be all procedurally-generated, but usually they don't call themselves that unless they allow you to use (or somehow refer to) seeds (Malevolence was the first game I thought of and, to my knowledge, it's still the only gridder that does this). In any case, it could be gold. I just need to figure out if I can get past those chunky pixels.

Ah, I see what you mean.
Instawishlisted!
7 kinds of weapons including the nanosword, boomerang-like tophat, bombs, blink orb, ghost sword projectile, lighter and kilobombs & Hundreds of unique items and powerups
Now that's some original arsenal plus a shipload of loot etc. Quite promising.
A science fiction narrative featuring a spacecutter named Songbringer, its crew, an ancient evil army, and a planet named Ekzerra
Hmm... quite predictable story i'd guess and ..."Ekzerra"? It sounds like a disease or something -- i say we nuke it from orbit to be sure.
Worlds are based on a six-letter seed; enter the same seed to play the same world on any platform, or enter a new seed to play something different
Just like the usual RTS map generators of several games where you can see the seed; i like it.
World generator is hand-crafted, creating worlds based on human-designed rules, blending the best of both procedural and bespoke game design
Hope it's true and not a marketing gimmick; i don't bash procedural generation since i enjoyed several games that featured it, but when every new map looks like the previous map it usually gets boring after a while. Hope it's better implemented here.
Roguelike-inspired permadeath option which gives a higher score on the leaderboard and allows for faster runs
I usually enjoy permadeath (and Iron Man modes) but it surely is nice when it's optional.
Oh for crying out loud... how many of those ugly-ass randomly generated crapfests do we need? There are so many interesting indie games out there, with great graphics and ideas and we keep getting this. Is there really that much audience for this? Again and again?
Not my cup of tea, but at least the system requirements are reasonable.

Yikes!

As mentioned, sounds like a fun game but the graphics might be a tough hurdle to get past. I'll have to wait for some Let's Play videos to get a better idea how it will look.

On the upside, I do appreciate that the gamecard has a lot of info about the game.
My (your?) poor, poor, eyes... Why the shaking/trembling effects causing eye strain(hopefully they can be turned off)? Are there actually players who ask for it?
