We'll give you a Linux demo asap! Sorry for the delay!
Any game that releases a demo in this day and age is worth keeping a close eye on, at the very least. I really hope this manages to reach a similar level as the games that it's drawing inspiration from.

They mentioned working on a Mac and Linux version of the demo, so they're not ignoring you. :)

EDIT: Beaten to the punch.

No, it's not the first time. Example: https://www.gog.com/game/system_shock_demo (and even that one wasn't the first, but some others didn't stick around). Search games by word "demo" and you'll find a few.

There's multiple. Daedalic in particular has published several demos.
I've just finished the demo (I managed to complete the second mission before the time limit kicks in) and I am already looking forward to this game !
Everything is amazing from the controls, the gameplay, the art direction, the music, the dialogue, the characters... very impressive !
It seems that the developers have understand what makes game like commandos/desperados/robin hood good and implemented it with a new flavour and a perfect execution :
- quick action from Desperados : check
- climbing on rooftop, jump from Robin Hood : check
- banters between guards from every stealth games : check
- interesting level design, sense of been behind enemy lines from commandos : check
- ability to carry a body just after killing a guard : check
- medals and achievement from the mark of the ninja : check

- making an old commandos fan happy : check !
high rated

Which Commandos game is this most similar to?

Probably the second one, I'd say, but better give the demo a try to say it yourself -- we've tried to include the best of all those games.
This game has been on my wishlist since it showed up in the 'Upcoming' tab. I've played the demo for only 20 mins and I'm already in love with the setting, mechanics, graphics, music and voice acting. And the controls are so smooth and convenient!

It looks like we'll have a true spirit successor to the Commandos series! I will definitely buy it as soon as it gets here.

Is there any Deluxe version being planned, with soundtrack/artworks etc.?

Hey, first I really liked the demo.

Some questions and observations:

1.) How many maps/level will be in the game?
2.) Will there be German voices or only subtitles?
3.) Is there any way to prevent guards from waking up after knocking them out, besides killing? Maybe tying them?
4.) I needed some time to get used to the controls, as I was expecting something along the lines of Commandos 2. I think left mouse button (walk & run) and right mouse button (select character(s) and show enemy view cone) could actually be on a single mouse button. Same would be apply for attack (non-lethal) and use key. In this case, a few lesser used functions would be required to be moved to some other key. Anyway got used the controls in the end, so its fine.
5.) I think 40,- € is a steep price, that maybe some (younger) people are not willing to afford. I'm going to buy it, because I really like these type of games and threre wasn't a good one since Commandos 2. :)
6.) The font for the subtitles of the NPC (guards talking) is too big and ugly. Turned it off because it was so irritating. Could you pick a smaller and maybe more stylized font? Similar the "Mission Menu" (goals, logs, tutrioals) and the menu font is a little bit too big for my taste, but that would be only a minor complaint.
7.) Running should create noise. So far I see no difference between walking and running?

Anyway really enjoyed the demo and looking forward to the full game! :)

Btw,: Kudos for releasing DRM free!

Thanks for releasing a demo, that's quite the rare thing to do these days. Much appreciated!

As for feedback there's one slightly annoying thing I noticed during the first mission - when selecting Takuma (? a.k.a. Sniper Gramps) his main sniping abilitiy is also active right away, i.e. the cursor changes into the (maybe a little too big) scope sight and there seems no way to switch that off, for example by clicking the respective button in the ability bar or by pressing "A".
Any chance you could give the player the same control over when Takuma's abilities are activated/deactivated as it's the case with the two other characters?

Oh and cheers for the Hardcore difficulty mode. From what I can tell so far it actually means what it says on the tin. Loving it!

Edit: The Japanese VO sounds top-notch btw. Can't understand a thing obviously but it definitely adds to the atmosphere. Good stuff.
