Get ready for side-scrolling, shoot-'em-up action combined with tactical, turn-based strategy in R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos! Making its debut on modern consoles, this collection of two games is coming soon to GOG with revamped visuals, online play, multiple campaigns, and branching missions!
It looks good. To the wish list.
What in tarnations is this? Weird! Hopefully it's actually "tactics" and not "puzzle game that calls itself tactics". Never heard of the original. Will have to look it up.

The shoot-'em-up element nullifies any tactics it may have, at least for me.
Nice. More PSP classics on GOG, please!

Does this also apply to Final Fantasy Tactics, Ogre Tactics, and Gears Tactics?

Lots of turn-based games have shooting in them, just not real-time. It's a turn-based game. But in the side-scrolling format of the arcade game it's based on. Which is novel, as nearly all other tactics games are top-down.

So there are no real-time elements in this game?

Edit: I read a couple of reviews and it seems clear to me now that this is not a "shoot-'em-up" game at all (as "shoot-'em-up" is a very specific genre, not just "games with shooting in them"). Referring to this as "shoot-'em-up action" does a disservice to the game, I believe.

I'm still not sure whether this is primarily a tactics game (like, say, FFT or Fell Seal) or a strategy game (like, say, HOMM or XCOM), but that's another question.

Thank you so much! Definitely not a "shoot-'em-up". Looks interesting. Wishlisted.
