RedRagan: From the description it looks like they want to approach this in a metaphorical way or like that TV series L O S T? Like depicting her island just like human's mind castle? Or this is the limbo she had to live in before moving on to afterlife?

Is this more like a walking simulator?

kohlrak: In a game called Lost at Sea we play as an old woman in a nursing home, which is most likely far from any water. DId i summarize the details page of this game well enough? I could be wrong about the age, but it seems to be heavily implied. Next week, i'm sure we'll have a new game entitled "getting laid," where we try to put a children's book together about Johnny Appleseed. Then, after that, we'll have a puzzle game called "Only Time Will Tell," where we solve puzzles to cut cardboard boxes. Then we'll have a game called "Coffee Drinkers" where we play as a cat that knocks over random items in the house.

RedRagan: LOL you got offended over nothing.
Offended? Hardly. I'm just annoyed that i saw the title, clicked the link, and it didn't look like subnautica.

ConanTheBald: Edit: Note for all the downvoters who don't know that the term "genderist", with an e, already exists and it has different meaning. Like I already said, I don't come up with these terms. Don't take it personally.

For all the sexists: you can downvote all you want. I like that. I like when sexists get upset because of me.
Don't you know the modern game is redefining terms, especially with the intent of conflation? Great for narrative control.

It's figurative as in being lost in a "sea of memories". And the setting takes place on an island surrounded by the sea. It's supposed to be artsy.

Which i find annoying. Artsy games usually have less specific sounding titles. Something like "Lost in a Sea of Memories" or something would've been more artsy, and would've also garnered more eyes from the target audience. Alot of your artsy games tend to have more obvious titles, due to a particularly vague nature that alludes to the theme yet is so intentionally vague that i can only identify the theme, not what it even is (aside from the knowledge that these types of games tend to have really fluffy, floaty, vague titles). We have , and [url=https://www.gog.com/game/to_the_moon]To the Moon (which is another example of a not so great title, but at least there's a space shuttle), and Company of Myself which are clearly vague, artsy, and the names alone speak to the target audience and not really to the uninterested. If you see "Space Shooter" you expect a space ship blasting aliens with a laser. If you see "Monster Hunter" you expect some sort of beast. If you see "The Witcher" you expect at degree of witchcraft, maybe some paranormal. If you see "Lost at Sea" you expect a survival game on Gilligan's Island or on a ship (or wreckage of a ship) that is in the ocean. If i see "Sea of Memories" or "Lost in Thought" or "Do I matter?" i'm going to think of this.

TZODnmr2k5: Then I may be a racist as I always play an elf in most RPGs... xD
avatar
Dogmaus: is it a female elf? then you might be a gendrist racist.
Uh oh... my last game I did play as one!

ConanTheBald: If you see yourself as an elf then you might be a trans-elf instead. If you admire elves or even like elves more than others then you might be an "elf-phile". It might become bit worrisome if you refuse to play a game simply because there are no elves in it or if you can't stand the rest and see the need to eliminate all but elves. Dunno, just a thought (don't take this post too seriously).
Don't worry I was snort-cough-laughing for quite a bit with your post! And Nah, I am not an elf supremacist, just an elf-nocentric!

JinseiNGC224: I like the fact that it has a female protagonist.

Breja: I swear, I will never understand why the protagonist's gender matters to anyone.
Just noticed this one. I think it does speak to the kind of game that people want. In a game with a choosable gender, not that important. In a sexual game, relatively important. Outside of that, if it's important, it's probably politics unless you have a damn good reason otherwise. For Samus of Metroid, it's clear they just wanted the shock value of the sudden reveal of that Justin Bailey. Most games you could swap the character's gender and it means almost nothing, especially if it's not medieval (not that anyone questions a woman of child-bearing age making up the brunt of the enemy forces in any of those games, anyway, despite how important that would be, especially with all the death and destruction we see in half these games). The really fun one is how huniepop lets you choose what you are (you know, "rape simulator" as the morons called it), which i find amusing, since that's pretty rare for such games, where it also matters the most.

You wouldn't believe the number of people that call me a furry 'cause i consistently play Khajiit. Apparently the unique behaviors, mentalities, etc of the Khajiit can't be appreciated unless you're a furry, i guess. Sure could've fooled me when i consistently click away from the stuff when it appears. I guess by that logic i'm a gay furry, 'cause my Khajiit is always male, even if i always play female in monster hunter.
