Bohemian rhapsody.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is now available for pre-order, DRM-free on GOG.com. Get it now to receive the Treasure Map DLC as a pre-order bonus.
Your sword is vengeance. Your sword is destiny. Your sword is all you have left.
The civil war that ravages medieval Bohemia took everything from you and now a life in the service of a local lord seems the only available path. But only momentarily, because this dynamic open world is packed with role-playing opportunities and challenges, opening up into a gut-wrenching narrative involving historical characters of the era.

NOTE: The DRM-free version of the game will be released on GOG.com on February 27, due to the publisher's decision.

mystral: While this game coming here is nice, although as usual I'll wait for reviews before deciding whether to buy it, I have to wonder why exactly GOG is getting it 2 weeks after Steam.

Does the publisher think it'll take 2 weeks to crack the DRM on it? Or did they make a deal with Steam? Some other reason? Inquiring minds would like to know, although we'll probably never get an answer.
Yeah I'm guessing it has to do with pirates cracking it, if they release on GoG day one that means the game is available immediately for pirates but with the speed hackers have been cracking games recently 2 weeks is quite a while to delay it for that. I'm just glad it's coming to GoG, I was actually looking up a release on GoG for this game just a week ago. 2 weeks gives time for some bugs to be fixed and of course to see the reviews so I have no problem with a delay (i'll probably wait for a sale anyway).

Paul_cz: Regarding Linux, unfortunately they were not able to technically make it possible. It happens. Plans change. There is no ill will.
Is that because they are using older Cry Engine? Recent one should work on Linux even with Vulkan support.

UPDATE: Judging by this, it's using Cry Engine 4. That could be the reason they didn't use Cry improvements for Linux support that mostly happened in Cry Engine 5 already.

€49.99 ?????
I'm also a backer, so I never expected to see this one here. As they only talked about a Steam release.
Maybe we call still get a GOG key. I don't mind waiting a couple of weeks. Better that than ending with a unused steam key.

richlind33: And will they be supporting this version of the game, or is it destined to end up on your GOG mix?
This was my thought as well.

And yikes, that price! $72.00 CDN. Anyone know if it can be played in third person or is it exclusively FPP?

Oh, I don't have a problem with the delay either, I have enough of a backlog to be able to wait a long time for games to come here before buying them anyway. I'm just curious about why they specifically chose to delay for 2 weeks, instead of either doing a simultaneous release or waiting months or even years like almost all devs do.

The delayed released is a bit on silly on the one hand, but on the other knowing when exactly it'll be released is a big step up from being told that a game will come to GOG at some point, but not specifying when, especially when a game hasn't been released yet.

Exclusively first-person:

Ah, thanks. Well, that saves me some money, anyway.

You first, I'll be right behind you. Maybe. o.O
Oh my Gog! Probably a day one purchase for me, still waiting reviews and stuff though. I'm so happy to see this game here!

My eyes widened a bit too. But at least it's the same price in CDN on Steam as well. I hate when it's inconsistent like PoE 2.

I'll need to see some streams before I even consider spending that much money.

On PC it will most likely get modded pretty quickly for third person. They had it working internally but decided to focus on first person since that was the original vision.

Yes, they are using older version of CE since the game is in development since 2012.

blotunga: Grr another game with preorder DLC :(
Apparently preorder DLC is necessary if you want to have preorder on steam available. It is one of the policies. At least in this case it is done in a nonharmful way.
I watched the video and kept thinking "wow, these people look actually retarded / inbred" - then I realized the game has "DELIVERENCE" in the title
