GeraltOfRivia_PL: See?
See what? That a game which is awesome on PS4 at 30 fps, somehow sucks balls and ass on PC at the same framerate?

Sorry I just don't quite see the logic. Yeah I guess it is "lazy programming" which seems quite common on consoles that the game relies on certain framerate, but still I don't see how it would make the PC version any worse, even if it does the same (even if in an optimal situation it wouldn't have to).

krakataul: Game is not locked to 30fps.
You can get as many frames as your CPU/GPU/RAM combo can mustard, within the limits of this PC port optimization.
Ok if so. Many Steam discussions seemed to indicate that it is locked to 30 fps (as well as the message earlier in this thread by IrritatingTruth, using the words "will be locked at 30FPS"), and some Steam discussion indicated that apparently it can be run also without locking it to 30 fps but then it is prone to crash every now and then, but runs stable if locked to 30 fps.

Anyway, is it now so that many PC owners hate the PC version because they are unable to run it reliably at e.g. 60 fps, or what is the issue with the PC version?

Niggles: So for those of us who dont really know much about this game, what is it like?. Openworld?. Story?. Length of playability?. AI ? etc?
If you and anyone else interested have an hour and a half to spare:
Horizon Zero Dawn - Review | Great Ideas, Boring Open-World
Check the description for time stamps to skip to what aspects (story, world design, quests, combat, rpg elements, controls) you're interested in.

Well, console users are used to 30 FPS, that's one thing. Second, console games are most usually played on a TV, which means that the experience is different. Most PC users use either 1080p or 1440p. As you can tell, sitting 6 meters from your 4k screen and playing on a gamepad is a bit different to sitting 1,5 metres away from your screen and playing on k+m.

So 30 FPS is okay on console, but stupid on PC (as a upper limit, that is)

I fail to see what the framerate has to do with how far you sit from your monitor or TV.

yaaaaaayyyy! horizon zero dawn. this is HUGE and i hope more games like this come to gog.

thanks to everyone involved in getting this here.
downvote post:

the weird crying over 30fps always leaves me confused.

it's like resolution in games.

"oh no! it's not 4k! whatever will we do?"

well, play the game, perhaps? the game is what's important. if the game isn't fun to play, then it doesn't matter what fps the game is in. [within reason, of course.]

plus, there just comes a point where you can't tell the difference between how high the fps is and how good the resolution has become.

you'll manage if it's at 30fps. promise.

Thanks. So basically story is contrived, the looting and collecting is pretty pointless (rewards arent great and better weapons have to be bought later on)..exploration reward is lacking passive charachter progression rpg wise... oh well...very detailed review..
im sure some will enjoy. Ill take a pass

Is it a hard Win10 required requirement or is it a only really supported on Win10 but should run fine on Win7 requirement?
Hopefully now that playstation will sell HZD here maybe gog can convince other japanese publshers such as bandai (dark souls, tales of etc.) , capcom (re0-re7) , square enix (final fantasy, tomb raider) to release more games here and maybe even microsoft to release games such as age of empires , skyrim , etc.

Last Christmas I got a 144hz monitor, to be fair I didn't think the difference would be that noticeable, but for me it really was. Specially when rapidly looking around an environment.
Now if GOG could get the Mass Effect Remasters...
A pleasant surprise! I have it on the other store but will buy it again :)

Direct X12, hard Win 10 only.

No one seems to have made any attempts to back port it either even though games like WoW can run in DX12 under Win 7.

I keep hoping that someone will add a vulkan renderer to fix this nonsense.

anzial: 0 at this point. There weren't ANY games on GOG connect for a couple of years now.

Dogmaus: I got Chasm last year.
That doesn't disprove my statement unless you got it in late November/December 2019. We are a month away from 2021 which puts 2019 within the scope of "a couple of years ago". Point is, ever since the fair price program ended in February last year, so did the GOG connect, apparently.
