morrowslant: Wondering what the maximum party count will be in Mutagen; will it have the same 8 possible party slots as the original Geneforge 1-5?
According to Mr. V. on kickstarter the party size will be limited to 8.

I'm not sure about a lot of things. It's still very early in the process. The party size will still be limited to 8. It gets very difficult to balance the game past that.

Thinking I may try the demo when it releases to get an idea of what he did with the skill system.
More Spiderweb, and it looks gorgeous.
Fun fact: Jeff develops on Mac and then ports to the other platforms.

Why would those proud-looking monsters be bound to my will and party, are they mindless or something?
Otherwise, It wouldn't be unexpected for them to turn against their Creator & Master instead of taking magic bolts for me.
The Call of Duty of Rpg. Let's see how often he can re-release the same game over and over again. Their games are already way too derivative by itself and inbetween series.
Spiderweb = best indie RPG's ever IMHO.

The first game is set on an island that was abandoned via evacuation, and all the most intelligent creations left behind developed free thought in absence of their masters. When the player is stranded on this island, they find 3 factions: loyalists who believe not worshiping mortals and not fallowing presumed orders is sinful, rebels who violently oppose mortals, and hippies who peacefully refuse orders. There are also stationary creations who literally only live to impart information and living weapons that don't even chose to fight, it's simply all they know.

This is indeed part of the whole ethos of Geneforge.

ShadowWulfe: Will wait for my Kickstart key. Love me some Spoderweb.
Same here
Anyone heard about changes to the gameplay?

Jeff could make essentially the same/similar game every year and I would still buy it. The market is so limited and the quality is consistent enough that why not?

I actually enjoyed Queen's Wish. My only real gripe was there was no way to cheese the game into having a steamroller type of party. I enjoy the progression where by endgame if you've min-maxed/optional content hoarded enough your party is unstoppable.
It plays mostly like classic Geneforge, with a few changes to how creatures work.
The rules of AP, action points, have slightly changed but it is mostly a usability thing.
