Get ready! A sequel to the award-winning post-apocalyptic hit is coming soon to GOG.COM! In Frostpunk 2, players are once again tasked with playing as the leader of a resource-hungry metropolis where the expansion and search for new sources of power is an unavoidable reality.

But the apocalyptic world has moved on. After the age of coal, conquering Frostland for the oil extraction industry is expected to be the new salvation of what’s left of humanity. However, change does not come easily, and not everyone in this new multi-layered society will welcome this new direction….

If you simply can't wait to tackle the challenges of a frostbitten city, play the first part of the series and read an interesting article from one of the game's creators that we posted on GOG.COM some time ago.

That’s not all! Until 16th August 2021, 3 PM UTC, Frostpunk base game and its DLCs are available on GOG.COM up to 70% off.

hummer010: We're talking about two different customers though. The person buying the GOTY isn't going to by the season's pass, because they don't already have the game. The person buying the season's pass isn't going to buy the GOTY because they already have the base game.

At the very least, give them the same discount.
You're missing the point. The person who doesn't have the game yet has a choice between season pass and base game. The pricing of the season pass factors into that decision.

They look at the price of the season pass and go "Oh, if I buy the base game now and the season pass at the next sale it'll be more expensive. The GOTY is better value". The season pass has less of a discount in order to make the GOTY a more attractive purchase.

None of the pricing is aimed at you, sorry. The entire pricing structure in this sale is designed to persuade new customers to buy the GOTY now. GOG have been using this sort of structure for a long time, I'm surprised that you've not noticed it before. It seems to be standard practice for game stores in general really.

You're the one who is missing the point. Its pretty simple to make the GOTY and the Season's Pass have the same discount, while still keeping the Base Game + Season's Pass more expensive than the GOTY. They do this, and they're not ignoring the customers that have already supported them by purchasing the Base Game previously while still encouraging new customers to purchase the GOTY.

I'm not sure what you don't understand. They want base game+season pass to cost more than the GOTY. If they increase the discount on the season pass then they'd have to decrease the discount on the base game to keep the combination more expensive than the GOTY.
But having a worse discount on the oldest product in the sale (the base game) also doesn't make sense.

Look, I get you don't like their pricing strategy and I'm not defending it either. I'm just explaining their reasoning which does make sense even if you don't like it.
Teaser Trailer

"The city has undergone significant changes since the events of the first Frostpunk. As it’s grown in both size and population so has it given rise to diverse and conflicting aspirations among its citizens. However, Frostpunk 2 remains rooted in its focus on an emergent narrative set in a harsh, post-apocalyptic atmosphere. Stay tuned! The gameplay trailer is just around the corner!"

Thanks for the update Swedrami.

And hopefully there won't be a competition to give away free copies of Frostpunk 2 before the competition from over two years ago, to give away free copies of Frostpunk 1 is resolved.
