Wolf904: Next time GOG curators reject a decent game you really wanted to buy DRM-Free, come back to this thread and realize that you are the ones who made it happen, by encouraging and cheering-on GOG to fill this place with rushed, mobile-phone quality trash.

MeowCanuck: Sorry to break the bad news, but not every release here was designed with you or your demographic in mind despite what you may think. There are other audiences here too who enjoy a casual point-and-click, puzzle game. And at the same time, I don't go into every release thread of games that clearly don't appeal to me and complain about the game and curation.

I suggest discarding the scarcity / pie mindset in favour of an abundance mindset instead. There's no good reason why both games can't exist here as GOG continues to increase releasing more games every year (483 last year).
who is the target demographics for this? babies?

Mafwek: *Facepalm

ReynardFox: Why the facepalm? GOG rejected Degica's library of Cave and Taito titles and their excuse for rejecting Mushihimesama specifically was really stupid and self defeating.
what was the reason?

You'll get a better answer from the gamedevs themselves. But I'd say casual gamers (puzzle, P&C, avant-garde, children) and pet lovers. There aren't a lot of cat games here to my knowledge either besides Cat Quest series and Inspector Waffles. So it's got some novel value to it.

Darvond: I realize that not everyone is the type of person to come up with a good title, but I've been seeing a run of hilariously badly named titles on GOG which otherwise had interesting premises shot by their own lack of namesense.
avatar
ReynardFox: This. Seriously. First impressions count, and that includes the name of your product.
To be absolutely honest, the name sounds more interesting than what i'm actually seeing in the video and screenshots.

But, hey, did you know 東方 is DRM-free on dlsite?

EDIT: Here's a direct link

Thy told Degica that the game was too unknown outside of Japan (A lie based on genre ignorance) and they didn't think it would sell (Self fulfilling prophecy), whilst also telling them they might reevaluate if the game does well on Steam. (Not only self defeating but also a lie because the game did well on Steam).

Breja: Uhm... do you mean this? That's supposed to be an AAA-caliber game? Given that choice, I'd go with this meow meow thing too :P

pmcollectorboy: Cave are the gods of bullet hell games and don't you forget it!
That sounds like barely a step up from being gods of hangovers. Althought, unlike being the gods of visual novels, at least it is a step up.

I love that one. "We might start selling your game once most people interested already own it". Now that's some business strategy!

TBH, i think it's for people to start pointing fingers at games like that and The Quest and point out no one bought them. They waited until the dev was already talking about a sequel before releasing here.
Interesting art design.
