Yes, LAN would be cool.

Yepp, but I am a bit sad that they focus only on ancient/classic times. Civilization has always been about the epic quest of humanity - creating a civ that ''stands the test of time' and 'lead people to the stars'.

Maybe they will add expansions that implements additional ages.

TT_TT_TT_TT: well if the "old" times are really fleshed out it might be nice as well. Depending on my mood and playstyle in given playthrough i sometimes found the earlier stages passing "too fast" in CIV without that much meaningful happening. Also really important for me would be how the AI turns out - while never being that much of a strong point of CIV in CIV 6 i was utterly disappointed by it
I always tried to solve it playing CIV in very "low speeds", specially in CIV IV and V., this is, playing the game with the higher number of turns possible ( Marathon, Epic, etc...)
Other option since CIV II was to play a scen instead. A more focused in time game. But I have never really been a fan of scens in the Civilization games, the meat of the game is the random sandbox epic campaign. Although scens are very convenient and enrich the game.

Interesting. In the trailer says the upcoming DLC bit that will release at the same time and it'll be initially free (for two weeks) when it drops. Guess what I'm buying? ;) Well, I was going to get it no matter what, but it's good to know that we'll get an extra bit of content. :)

Still would love to see anything Civ-related beyond part 4 to release here, but 2K seems not to be interested. Yet we've gotten all the XCOMs? Weird.
