I pre-ordered the Witcher 3 and tried to redeem the code I received but it says that is invalid?
Is this a problem that I will need to speak to the company that I pre-ordered it from or what?
Many Thanks

Grargar: Where did you buy it from?
CDKeys.com, who are normally reliable

GOG.com hasn't authorised anyone to sell GOG keys, so you should be wary of anyone that does, regardless of your earlier experience with them.

In that case you should contact them. There were some cases before where keys bought from thrid-party keyseller were blocked because they were originally obtained by fradulent credit cards and then sold via Keysellers.

The only official source to buy GOG-Keys is GOG.com itself.

If the key doesn't work then, yes, you should contact CDKeys for a refund.

Yeah, you're right, that was a bit less than helpful. Automatic response, sorry about that.

Really/? I thought he only legit places (as in not a sketchy key re-seller) that aren't selling GOG keys are Amazon and Steam. Actual name-brand retailers like Gamestop (US) are supposedly selling GOG keys just like they always have, apparently with GOG/CDPR approval.

Well that tweet is pretty clear about it...

Not really. It just confuses the issue more. Like I said, Gamestop, a large video game retailer in the US as well as much of the world (somewhere around 6-7000 stores worldwide under the names Gamestop, EB Games and Micromania), is currently selling PC downloads of Witcher 3 at the same 10% pre-order discount that everyone else has. In the instructions for the downloads, it specifically says you need a GOG.com account in order to get the game. Gamestop is known for having some consumer-unfriendly used game policies, but they are not known at all for being an illegitimate key seller.

EDIT - In fact, the responses to that tweet also mention a few other known legitimate stores selling GOG keys, like the Humble Bundle store. It seems that it was just a poorly worded response to the Green Man Gaming debacle. GMG is not a legitimate seller, and there are very likely more than just GMG at fault here, but there appear to still be retailers other than GOG.com that are fully authorized to be selling GOG keys.

The tweet only refers to GOG games in general. Witcher III is another case. But that's odd because the official Witcher 3 site only mentions Gamestop as a store for the retail version...: http://buy.thewitcher.com/?lang=en&country=US
