KobusSteenkamp: Do you mean me or those two users as I'm not a scammer. I have had this account since 2011. Here is my Steamgift account if you don't believe that this giveaway is legit. http://www.steamgifts.com/user/CowOfDarkness

Edit: Saw you posted the link to known scammers. So not me then.

KobusSteenkamp: I have a Steam key for Cloud Knight that I'm not going to use.

Just guess my age

Edit: I'll give it another day before I choose the winner. More time for people to guess.

Edit 2: The giveaway is closed. The winner is mchack who guessed the closest first. I'm 28 :). Guesses from scammers were ignored.
Yay :) thanks alot :D - recieved and redeemed. Many thanks KobusSteenkamp.

Presumably, he thinks you're a scammer. I have no idea, but it kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth when accusations are made that may or may not be accurate and are then used as a basis for making decisions.

This is the information I acted on http://www.gog.com/forum/general/open_this_thread/?search=BlueSteel006

If BlueSteel006 isn't a scammer then I'm sorry and I'll give them two other games.

Like I said, I have no idea whether or not you made the right decision here. It just leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth all the accusations of scamming that pop up in the forum in general lately.

I was warned by a friend about the scam problem on the forum. I really don't think I'll try to make another giveaway. I'll just stick to Steamgifts.

I can't blame you. Whether you made the right call or not, it just sucks. And I can't say that I have any suggestions about how to avoid the problem.

Personally, I probably wouldn't do contests, I'd probably do games and then decide whether or not there should be a prize afterwards. Probably cut down on most of the scamming if there's no way of knowing if there's going to be a prize other than the satisfaction of winning.

I'll keep it in mind. I actually wanted to make a couple of more giveaways. It seems GOG's forum seriously needs official mods.

I'm not sure there is a particularly good solution to the problem, but the rules can help a bit as can the way you handle it. People often times have minimum rep requirements and age of account rules. Give aways that favor many entries with no effort are going to be scammed more easily than giveaways that require effort. The more the giveaway focuses on actual activity, the harder it's going to be to scam.

I don't personally participate in giveaways on either end, but I think if you look at some of the game based giveaways and ask the people running them, you might get some good ideas.

I'd hate to see people give up on generosity, but the generosity with no work on the part of the recipients is a part of the problem. Kind of like feeding the birds.

Thanks for the replacement key. I was on vacation.
Sorry for all the trouble.
His rep is artificially inflated based on join date, which is why it's not a trustworthy account.
