Meet the GOG.com community-inspired NPC for the upcoming RPG epic

UPDATE: A slender column of white smoke rises gently towards the sky: The community hath spoken! Dominating the competition with a whopping 59% of all votes, Eithne has been chosen as the GOG Hero to join the cast of Divinity: Original Sin 2 – heading to GOG.com day one.

Back in October, we asked you guys to devise a GOG.com character with a unique quest in Divinity: Original Sin 2. We collected tons of incredible ideas, while the talented team at Larian Studios designed three characters to embody the most awesome of those traits and concepts:

- Doryld "The Doryld" Surpass: On a soapbox in the town square, the madman messiah proclaims his divinity. He is the new Divine! His audience of three, two of whom are drunk (the other may be you), ask for proof of his powers. He resists. They insist.

- Fadeland Johns: The veteran masked adventurer drones on about her exploits in the old world. How the young people of today don't know nothin'. She's going out into the world to show 'em how adventure is done proper. Just as soon as she finishes this drink.

- Eithne: You encounter Eithne - masked and cloaked - weighed down with a massive rucksack of knowledge. She has books to trade and books to sell - mostly rare and arcane knowledge better left unlearnt...

Turns out the allure of the wandering librarian was irresistible. Ancient scrolls? Forbidden knowledge? Enigmatic mask? Yes, please!
Thanks to everyone who helped choose the GOG Hero for Divinity: Original Sin 2 and for making the anticipation for this epic RPG even more unbearable. At least we have Divinity: Original Sin to keep us busy, right?

Vythonaut: Why should we, the Greek people, get any sort of discount? Are we "special" customers or something? :P :D
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know Greece isn't exactly known as a rich country, especially in recent years... ? Of course, regional pricing seems to be fairly random, and not necessarily based on the wealth of a country and its citizens.

Regional pricing has nothing whatsoever to do with the wealth of a country.
Greece pays almost the same prices as Germany.
Currently, Germany pays +9.25% (relative to the base price) on average on 301 games.
Greece pays +9.07% on average on 301 games.
Both, for example, pay more than Switzerland (+7.90% on average).

Well, if we're talking about real money, yeah, we're not a rich country but for counterbalance, we have beautiful forests, crystal clear beaches, lots of islands, graphical villages, nice weather and so on. If only the gasoline wasn't too damn expensive so as to visit those great beaches, islands, forres..oh, wait! Damn! :P Just joking, yeah, not exactly rich - in fact, many Greek people can't make a living and especially younger people with kids and old people...

As for the regional pricing, to be honest i think we have the same prices as the majority of GOGers in EU & USA. For example, Divinity: Original Sin it is sold for 39.99 euros (without discounts applied).

vanchann: Undead, like a zombie?
The description says that she was resurrected! :-)
I stand corrected. :)
Vote? Damn, all f them looks really good in their own way. Jesus Sparrow, Hollow Drunk and Cursed Librarian. I want all of them in the game, but I know it's not the case. Oh well...
Most interesting character gets the least votes, the least interesting one gets the most, figures. Making Eithne a vendor was a big mistake that skewed the voting heavily before it even began and made it a no-contest. People just can't resist passing on "purples".

Surpass 2016! Make Divinity Great Again!
Eithne all the way

Dju: Voted for Doryld, can't get enough nutbags in my RPGs :-)

Of course Eithne is going to win because she's the dark'n'gritty(c)(R)tm one.

Back in my days gamers knew what was fun

Gilozard: Not sure if sarcastic. Eithne is a vengeful librarian. What's not fun about that?

They're all crazy too, so that's not a deciding factor.
No sarcasm whatsoever, I just blatantly mimicked modern-days politics. Whenever I feel all candidates are equally good (And yeah, disclaimer: I find these three GOG heroes to be interesting) I feel the urge to bash the ones that I don't happen to root for :-)

Just because we're on GOG doesn't mean we're supposed to behave rationally, does it?

P.S.: I never found vengeful librarians fun ever since I forgot to return a book back when I was 8... Bad memories mate...

Yeah... love the Dark Souls theme of Fadeland. And Doryld does have a Jack Sparrow meets Jesus Christ vibe to him, huh?
I'd love to see Doryld, but I can understand how right after DS3 being released the popular choices would be the characters that seem like they'd fit in there. Personally I'm going with the guy wearing a crab for a hat and I stand by the decision.

Crab for a hat? Meh. You have bad taste for hats.
I was wearing a cat as a hat when i was a kid. :D

DreamedArtist: Eithne all the way
Agreed. The other two are stupid joke characters. Eithne's backstory RULES by comparison.
Never played DOS, but I wanted to participate to this good idea for the sequel.
Eithne or die !
The guy in the net looks like a joke that went a bit too far, the beer lover looks too much like he's taking a break from Dark Souls.

I pick the librarian, at least he has something in common with the service GOG provides. Also, he looks the coolest.
