It's just that I consider tabletop games as vast and expansive, and as the name implies, taking up most if not all of the space available on a table with all its various assets needed to play.

A chess board (or any other "simpler" game like Snakes & Ladders or Ludo) will always be board games in my book.

When I saw tabletop games were on sale I was sure Dark Future:blood red states was finally on sale. I saw it 10% off once, feels like years ago. I think GOG forgot it is one of the games they sell. This is definitely a tabletop game. I was hoping to see at least 40% off since it seems to be an obscure title. No such luck.

After a bit of thought, I agree that distinction makes sense. Still, words are adaptive, we constantly use them "wrong" to fit our needs. In a sale like this, I read "tabletop" as a more generic label, including board games.
