The seventh anniversary of the epic RPG from CD PROJEKT RED is upon us. Celebrate this date with us and visit our special page dedicated to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and other games from The Witcher series. There, you’ll find all about the benefits (exclusive goodies and an occasion to grab a game as a gift) of buying The Witcher games on GOG.

The anniversary comes with a set of discounts in our store, lasting until 22nd May 2022, 10 PM UTC. During that time, if you buy all 3 of the mentioned below titles, an additional 10% discount will be added to the entire bundle:

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition (-85%)
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition (-85%)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (-80%)
Bought them with the welcome pack already (discount was not as big but getting into the witcher series and being able to mod them is what brought me here).

Hoping GOG makes galaxy achievements for Witcher 2 at least. Would be cool to see achievements for Witcher 1 as well.

Still looking forward to the graphics update and what plans CDPR has for W4.

fronzelneekburm: Can someone explain the reason why the DLC/DLC Pass is never ever given the same discount as the GOTY, despite the GOTY already being cheaper to begin with?
avatar
MarkoH01: It says so in the title: it is the GOG way :D

"Celebrate The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt anniversary in a GOG way!"
Or the CDPR way? unless GOG controls pricing for CDPR games since they're both under CDP

TheGreatDustpan: Lads, when are we getting those Galaxy achievements for Witcher 2?!
With luck at the 10th anniversary ... maybe?
avatar
idbeholdME: Wait, owning the GOTY of Witcher 3 doesn't mark the DLCs or even the base game itself as owned? :/
Completely different games ... at least in the GOG database and GOG programmers simply aren't competent enough to change this. They never did and they never will.

Hey downvoters ... or maybe this was GOGs doing? No need to downvote just because I speak the truth. You can't deny facts no matter how often you press this button or how low you want my reputation to sink. And yes, it is a known fact that GOGs web programmers are basically not competent in what they are doing.

There have been some titles where if you owned the complete edition the base game and DLCs were also marked as owned and vice versa.
Not sure if they still do it, but it used to be that if you owned The Witcher 3 and both DLCs, the GOTY got added to your library. To my knowledge it never worked the other way around with TW3.

That's only the case because the community demanded this. At first such offer did not exist. As so often the community needed to raise their voice before they listened instead of stepping up first and being customer friendly on their own right from the beginning. As far as I know the offer/mechanic never expired afterwards.

I remember it not being done with Omerta: City of Gangsters as the publisher didn't allow it. So it's apparently depending on the goodness and decency of the dev or publisher. Which makes it easy to fulfill on your own platform.

It differs on a game to game basis. For example, Trine Ultimate Collection marks every Trine game as owned, except Trine 4. The product ID configs are overall very messy and I don't think it will ever get addressed.

bioshark: Every time a Witcher special sale comes up, I ask myself the same questions:
"Is there really somebody out there who hasn't played the games yet?"
avatar
timppu: *raises hand*

I have tried all the three games out to see how they run, but I haven't properly played them yet.

In fact, getting a DRM-free digital version of The Witcher 1 and 2 was the very reason I joined GOG.com to begin with, back in June 2011.

To me your point would make more sense if you had said that if someone hasn't BOUGHT the games yet, they are probably not that interested in getting them anyway. Then again, there are new PC gamers born every day...

avatar
bioshark: ... If yes, they probably are not interested in the franchise anyway

timppu: At least I am, but my excuse is that there are thousands if not trillions of other unplayed games out there as well.

Currently I am playing e.g. Star Wars Dark Forces 2, and Dungeon Siege 2. And of course Team Fortress 2 when I feel like it.
Yes, I definitely meant "Bought.
